This little retreat has been converted from one of the last existing original stables built for ponies that worked in the forest. The ponies were used by forestry workers to move logs out of the woods before cutting them ready to be transported further afield.
Set between the quiet hamlets of Trecastle and Crai and with stunning views of Pen y Fan and the Brecon Beacons this is the perfect romantic getaway. The location is a true Star Gazers haven - with a Computerised Mead telescope for visitors to use and its own OBSERVATORY.

Stargazers Retreat is set in the peaceful forestry valley ideal for exploring. The owners maintain the garden as a haven for wildlife - there are bats in the neighbouring woods, honey bees, hedgehogs and you may even see the odd deer. The bird boxes were all being used when we visited, with red kites circling overhead. Just 7 miles from The National Show Caves at Dan yr Ogof and 10 miles to the Abercraf Inn with its excellent restaurant or the Castle Coaching Inn in Trecastle is just 3 miles away where you can browse the stock the Antiques Centre.

A friendly cathedral town in the lee of the mountains with the rivers Usk and Honddu running through. For a small town, there's a lot going on. A leisure centre with a pool, 1930s style cinema, excellent theatre and plenty of shops and cafes. On the outskirts of the town are popular villages including Llangorse with it famous lake, Cantref with its popular adventure farm, Talybont, well known as a walking and cycling hub and Felin Fach, home of The Griffin, a highly acclaimed pub and restaurant.
