Wildlife-watchers will adore going for a stroll at Llangorse Lake (1.5 miles), which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Keep your eye out for otters and water voles in the reeds and swifts and Canada geese in the skies. You can also hire a dinghy, canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard and take to the water there. Foodies will adore spending the day in search of new flavours. Start off the Bakers’ Table Cafe in Talgarth Mill (3.5 miles), which was featured on ITV’s Britain’s Best Bakery show. Sample their unbelievable cakes and sign up for a bread-making workshop. The Black Mountains Smokery (11 miles) is also well worth checking out if you’re craving some oak-smoked salmon, trout, duck or cheese.
