A spacious house well equipped, we did expect a detached house from the pictures. There were areas of hygiene that could be improved. The gardens are very nice, we did have a small issue with neighbours children using the front garden for cricket practice! The road is quite noisy early am till late pm. It was nice to be able to walk to the local puRead moreb, and there are some good food shops in Talgarth. Hide

Hendre is a beautiful and well-equipped home from home. We spent Christmas in Talgarth and it couldn't have been more perfect. We can't wait to go back to Hendre in the future! 10/10.

The house was nice but is in desperate need of updating. It is very tatty with carpets not fitting the rooms, as well as a fusty smell when entering the property. Whoever does the cleaning, isn't doing a good job as there was dust on everyday surfaces, and cobwebs in the utensils on the kitchen cupboards. Lots of broken ornaments which have been glRead moreued back together. It could be a beautiful rental property but feels like it has had no money put into it. Location is great for walkers. Hide

Home away from home - a lovely and spacious old house with a blooming garden, quietly and conveniently located in the pretty village of Talgarth. Unmodernised and rather old-fashioned, it will not please anyone looking for sleek lines, Quookers and power showers, but we found it welcoming and relaxing and would very happily return.

The Brecon Beacons is a vast, mountainous and rural region of Wales. Stretching 42 miles from east to west and covering an area of 520 square miles, the Brecon Beacons is dominated by the National Park of the same name. Split into three main areas, the Black Mountain in the west, the Brecon Beacons National Park and Fforest Fawr in the middle, and the Black Mountains in the east; each is a wild, bold and inspiring place to visit on holiday. With 1232 miles of public trails which includes the 95-mile-long Beacons Way, it’s a wayfarer’s delight. One of four Dark Skies Reserves in the UK (and one of 11 in the world), stargazers can delight in the open night sky, to enjoy the darkness in full splendour. The Fforest Fawr is a UNESCO Global Geopark because of its important geology and a need to conserve and protect the area from negative over development.

Stay at a self-catering cottage in the mountains and cascading woodlands or out on the moors; you can also stay in one of the Brecon Beacon’s lovely towns like Hay-on-Wye, Crickhowell, Llangorse or Brecon. Outdoor lovers will enjoy a choice of easy to challenging treks up and around Sugar Loaf Mountain, Carn Pica, Craig Cerrig-Gleisiad, Pen y Fan, or Hatterall Ridge (and many more besides). Take in uniquely Welsh attractions like Dan-yr-Ogof (the National Showcaves Centre for Wales), The Big Pit Mining Museum, Llanthony Priory, Carreg Cennen Castle, Fourteen Locks, and the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway. Wildlife abounds in the Brecon Beacons, and it’s a great place to spot red kites and discover the successful story of their reintroduction to the UK’s skies at the Red Kite Centre. There’s so much to do for outdoor lovers and extreme sports fans here, so why not book your self-catering holiday in the Brecon Beacons today?

Our holiday cottages across the Brecon Beacons have been carefully selected. From dog-friendly cottages in the countryside to large farmhouses on the mountainsides and everything in between, we have a holiday in the Brecon Beacons to suit you.
