Lovely cottage in a beautiful location with stunning views across the valley to Crickhowell. You literally walk out the door onto the canal path and the many walks into the hills. The cottage is spacious and very well equipped with everything you could need. Pretty rear garden that made a pleasant spot to drink our morning coffee.

Well appointed, cozy cottage with outstanding views, set amongst beautiful countryside. Only a short (15 min) walk into Crickhowell although, be warned, the walk home ends with a steep climb up hill. Worth it though for the views!

Hosts most generous with their welcome gifts (including for the dog!) & were exceedingly helpful with the problem we had with our injured dog having trouble with the stairs. Couldn't have been kinder. Cottage had beautiful views, ideally situated with walks along canal & down into Crickhowell & blissfully quiet.

We really enjoyed our stay at Canal Boat college . The facilities were great and well thought through with the welcome pack giving a really special touch to our stay. Location is beautiful with fantastic views and although a steep walk to the village itself, we found some lovely places to eat whilst there .

The Brecon Beacons is a vast, mountainous and rural region of Wales. Stretching 42 miles from east to west and covering an area of 520 square miles, the Brecon Beacons is dominated by the National Park of the same name. Split into three main areas, the Black Mountain in the west, the Brecon Beacons National Park and Fforest Fawr in the middle, and the Black Mountains in the east; each is a wild, bold and inspiring place to visit on holiday. With 1232 miles of public trails which includes the 95-mile-long Beacons Way, it’s a wayfarer’s delight. One of four Dark Skies Reserves in the UK (and one of 11 in the world), stargazers can delight in the open night sky, to enjoy the darkness in full splendour. The Fforest Fawr is a UNESCO Global Geopark because of its important geology and a need to conserve and protect the area from negative over development.

Stay at a self-catering cottage in the mountains and cascading woodlands or out on the moors; you can also stay in one of the Brecon Beacon’s lovely towns like Hay-on-Wye, Crickhowell, Llangorse or Brecon. Outdoor lovers will enjoy a choice of easy to challenging treks up and around Sugar Loaf Mountain, Carn Pica, Craig Cerrig-Gleisiad, Pen y Fan, or Hatterall Ridge (and many more besides). Take in uniquely Welsh attractions like Dan-yr-Ogof (the National Showcaves Centre for Wales), The Big Pit Mining Museum, Llanthony Priory, Carreg Cennen Castle, Fourteen Locks, and the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway. Wildlife abounds in the Brecon Beacons, and it’s a great place to spot red kites and discover the successful story of their reintroduction to the UK’s skies at the Red Kite Centre. There’s so much to do for outdoor lovers and extreme sports fans here, so why not book your self-catering holiday in the Brecon Beacons today?

Our holiday cottages across the Brecon Beacons have been carefully selected. From dog-friendly cottages in the countryside to large farmhouses on the mountainsides and everything in between, we have a holiday in the Brecon Beacons to suit you.
