Set aside your daily stresses and embark on a holiday to the Brecon Beacons, choosing this attractive property on the outskirts of Crickhowell as your base. Sleeping up to four guests and laid out in a reverse-level style, your accommodation is well suited to families keen to explore on foot or by bike. Hillwalking, fishing and cycling opportunities are available in abundance, best enjoyed after a peaceful breakfast in your private garden. The owners have even provided a welcome crate of goodies and homemade cake for your stay. Enter to discover two comfortable bedrooms on the ground floor, each crisply dressed for a restful night’s sleep and sharing a bathroom. Upstairs, the open-plan living space is contemporary yet cosy with a roaring wood burner and bright decor. Artistic details and stylish furniture create a relaxing atmosphere in the lounge area that features a TV, books, and sofas for leisurely evenings. The chic kitchen has everything you need to prepare a feast, and there’s a handy dining table for mealtimes and board games. On warm evenings, the rear garden is a treat for BBQ suppers, and you’ll be able to access the canal from the front of the property. Stroll along the beautiful Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, browse the shops or sample delicious local fare in a friendly restaurant. Crickhowell is a popular destination for budding historians thanks to the castle remnants, but the winding River Usk nearby will appeal to fishermen. For younger guests, Abergavenny 7 miles away boasts a soft play centre, indoor climbing wall and a museum, but the whole family will adore the annual food festival and array of eateries. There’s also a museum set within the ruins of a Norman Castle, a fascinating place to visit whatever the weather.

Lovely quiet location next to the Monmouth Canal. Dog friendly. It rained nearly all week, so we had a much-needed lazy rest. Steep stairs which wouldnt be suitable for very young children and people with mobility issues. Recommended and would visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and had a relaxing holiday. A welcome pack was waiting for us when we arrived, a great surprise! The cottage was well equipped and the owners were very helpful when we encountered a small problem. Crickhowell is an interesting village, great eating places nearby & fantastic butchers. The four waterfall walkRead mores are about 45 minute drive and are so worth visiting as well as conquering Sugar Loaf Mountain. Horse riding is also available locally. Good stay Hide

The cottage is in a great location to explore the beautiful Brecon Beacons. The views are outstanding from the property, and walks along the canal or in the local area are on the doorstep. Good places to eat nearby in Crickhowell and the Tuesday market at Abergavenny is well worth a visit. Its an area we will be revisiting!
