Treat yourself and your partner to a magical holiday in Mid Wales. This converted barn is a great place for a romantic retreat where couples can come to explore the surrounding area, learn about local history and make memories. The property is part of a holiday complex overlooking Sugar Loaf and Usk Valley, so expect stunning sights and wonderful experiences.

Upon entering the property, you’ll come to an open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner. You’ll really notice the original parts of the building, including the exposed brick, wooden beams and vaulted ceiling. The lounge area is comfortable and nicely decorated and the table can seat four, so feel free to invite friends in for dinner. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can cook up your favourite meals or pack a picnic, and there’s a breakfast bar for sleepy morning coffees. Continue through to the double bedroom, which has a skylight and is nice and quiet, so you’ll get plenty of sleep. The final room is the shower room. This cottage is all on one level. Outside, you’ll have a patio with a seating area.

The Sugar Loaf and Usk Valley are some of Wales’ most beautiful places, set against the backdrop of the Black Mountains. You’ll be able to hike and cycle right from the front door and visit some incredible spots. The area is rich with legends, so take a trip to Tretower Court and Castle (4.5 miles) or Crickhowell Castle (2.5 miles) to discover myths and spooky stories.
