Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this attractive cedar cabin on the border between England and Wales makes an ideal honeymoon hideaway or romantic couples’ retreat.

Escape the everyday and set up home in this charming cabin which is perfect for a romantic getaway. Enjoy views across the undulating countryside from inside or out and stay snug under cosy blankets or by the warming fire pit. The open-plan living space is perfect for couples and though this dwelling sits close to the owner’s home, you’ll enjoy peace and quiet as well as a secluded feel.

Step up and onto the welcoming decking and make your way inside this bolthole. Charming wood panelling lines the walls and adds character to this cosy space. Choose an armchair and settle down in front of the TV or delve into a book and lose yourself in an exciting tale. Rustle up something delicious in the kitchen which, although compact, has everything you need and is a bright space in which to prepare meals. Should you fancy an al fresco feast, fire up the BBQ and dine outside where you’ll be able to see the stars on a clear night. The chimenea helps to keep you warm as the sun sets and blankets are provided for extra comfort. Pull the curtains around the welcoming double bed as you drift off and dream before waking up and enjoying a refreshing shower.

Jump in the car or make the 2-mile trip on foot to Hay-on-Wye, a bustling literary town brimming with book shops, eateries and antique shops. Travel 13 miles to the largest natural lake in South Wales, where you can enjoy a peaceful stroll around the water’s edge. A 20-mile journey will take you to the pretty village of Talybont-on-Usk where you can follow paths winding their way around tumbling waterfalls or pick up some goodies from the village shop.

My first holiday in 10 years couldn't have been better placed. Clyro is well situated, a short 4 minute drive from Hay on Wye and 20 minutes from Brecon. The cottage itself is set into the hillside looking across the wye valley, allowing for stunning views as well as seclusion. The cottage had everything I needed from a fridge to a cooker and was vRead moreery clean and well looked after. I must also say the owners were exceptionally kind and great to talk to. Easy recommendation and I will return. Hide

The property is so well situated to get into Hay-on-Wye without being in Hay. Such a lovely couple who own the property, and they have the cutest grandson, who we got to meet. A very comfortable place to stay with inside and outside place to rest a relax. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

A beautiful escape in nature. We loved staying in the little pavilion, its the perfect location close to popular hiking trails in the Brecon Beacons yet you feel completely secluded in that beautiful little garden - all you can hear is little birds and the sun goes up right above the pavilion.
