Steeped in history and perfect for entertaining, this property promises a Brecon Beacons break that will live long in the memory of all who come. Located just outside the literature-lover’s town of Hay-on-Wye, this stunning property, which sleeps ten guests across five bedrooms, offers the perfect base for exploring all of the many adventures that this National Park has to offer. And, on returning home at the end of each busy day, provides an ever-comfortable holiday home with cushy beds, inviting wood burners and walled gardens ready to be enjoyed by children and dogs alike. Featuring stunning original features throughout, this converted medieval property proudly presents rooms with vaulted ceilings, flagstone flooring and original beams. Whilst updated to provide contemporary amenities for your stay, the decor reflects this traditional style and offers an instantly welcoming environment in which to unwind. Invite guests over to make use of the impressive dining room which seats 30, always retiring to the cosy lounge for an after-dinner tipple by the wood burner. Or, when blessed with sunshine and warmth, explore the private garden with BBQ, outdoor furniture and glorious landscapes. Venture out for walks right from your doorstep or wander to the nearest town, Hay-on-Wye, just 1.5 miles away. With the River Wye running through, this fascinating town boasts an annual book festival and an impressive selection of bookshops. Keen fishermen will no doubt while away a day or two on the banks of this river or the River Usk 15 miles away. The location of this river also gives way to the bustling town of Brecon (15.5 miles) which is certainly worth a visit. Whilst many flock to the area to explore the expanse of the Black Mountain Range, we recommend you make full use of this fantastic Dark Sky Reserve Status area and conserve your energy for a midnight hike under the stars.

We stayed for a weekend with our kids and their partners. It's so big but so cosy and warm especially with the log burner going. Kitchen well equipped, comfy beds and good bathrooms. The wi fi and TV were on the blink but I am sure this wasn't a permanent problem. Such a great place, location for long walks perfect and for evenings relaxing. Top hoRead morele!! Hide

We had a fantastic time. The barn is well organised and well appointed, from the instructions/guide sent pre-arrival to the well dried and ample logs available for the fire pit. We had 10 people in our party, was ample room - especially in the communal areas, which is unusual. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning property in the most beautiful location. The Owners put fresh flowers in the house for our arrival which was a very nice touch. We had an amazing weekend celebrating our birthday with friends. Would highly recommend.
