Walking to the Woollen line

Wonderful views of Myndd Troed, Myndd Llangorse and the Dragon’s Back as we approached the plateau on Pen Trumau with our cargo of woollen sausages.

Our aim is to restore the peat bog.  Have a look at their website for more information - http://woollenline.wordpress.com/2010/08/04/hello-world/

Pony trekking … the ponies were grateful for the freshwater streams coming off the Black Mountains – they took two loads up the hill and were ridden down. A few saddlesore volunteers by 5.30pm – John Wayne didn’t wear shorts and walking boots!

Tea and cakes … cups of hot tea, fruit cakes, sponge cakes and apples from the local postman at the end of the day. And plenty of local produce will be available at Abergavenny Food Festival.

All to do again today and Saturday 8th September.
