Cosy and traditional with exposed beams, an open fire inside and a large lawned garden at the back, it is ideal for both children and dogs. Set out on foot to explore the local woodland and rural trails or jump on board the Brecon Mountain Railway before returning for a bite to eat in one of the village pubs.
Inside, this quaint cottage is steeped in history, with exposed stone walls, an original fireplace, wooden beams and winding stone staircase. Cosy and inviting, the living area is a warm and welcoming space for enjoying quiet nights watching TV or games beside the roaring open fire. The kitchen by contrast is fitted with everything you could need. The three first-floor bedrooms have been tastefully decorated in calming neutral tones and boast wonderful rural views. Stepping outside, the large garden is bordered by beautiful dry-stone walls and surrounded by wild countryside – a delightful space for enjoying al fresco meals or games with the dog.
Just 1 mile from the property is the friendly village of Talybont-on-Usk. Home to a useful village shop and several pubs, its canal, rivers and reservoir also make it a haven for local wildlife. Choose between the Taff Trail cycle route and the Henry Vaughan Trail, which both run along the valley behind the cottage, or venture through local woodland to reach the pretty Blaen-y-Glyn waterfalls (5 miles). Enjoy a scenic stroll around the Talybont Reservoir (3.5 miles) or head out on a kayak, boat or water skis at Llangorse Lake (9.5 miles).
