This Victorian cottage is great value for a family or group of friends wanting to explore the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and the Usk Valley. Set just off the A40 the cottage has lots of character with a cosy sitting room where you can relax in front of the large fireplace on 3 comfortable sofas. There is a TV with Freesat channels and a selection of DVDs available. With a small dining room and a twin bedroom leading from the sitting room on the ground floor. There is also a generous modern family bathrooom with power shower also on the ground floor. Two more bedrooms upstairs with windows looking over the hills of Buckland and Bwlch. The owners have left a selection of games, films and books. Outside there is large and sunny private terrace with garden furniture and a stone built barbeque. A recently felled larch tree from the gardens has been carved into a series of chairs, benches and even mushrooms!
Have an activity filled holiday with numerous walks in the area, or bring your bike and enjoy the fresh air and quiet country lanes on National Cycle route 8, or visit Llangorse Lake the largest body of freshwater in south Wales, or come pony trekking in the Black Mountains. Or for the less active why not drive to one of the small local towns of Hay on Wye, Brecon or Crickhowell and visit the independent shops or sample some local produce in numerous cafes and restaurants. The Brecon Beacons or the Black Mountains are just a short drive away.

The sitting room has a large open fireplace with comfy sofas and chairs, a TV with video and DVD player. Selection of board games, videos, books and DVDs are available.

A friendly cathedral town in the lee of the mountains with the rivers Usk and Honddu running through. For a small town, there's a lot going on. A leisure centre with a pool, 1930s style cinema, excellent theatre and plenty of shops and cafes. On the outskirts of the town are popular villages including Llangorse with it famous lake, Cantref with its popular adventure farm, Talybont, well known as a walking and cycling hub and Felin Fach, home of The Griffin, a highly acclaimed pub and restaurant.
