The Corn Store is set at the end of a private drive in the picturesque grounds of the Old Mill where the owners live, located on the River Gavenny in sight of the Skirrid Mountain. Just over a mile from the historic town of Abergavenny, the "gateway to the Brecon Beacons" and on the bus route from Abergavenny to Hereford. The cottage has been very well converted from the historic storage building associated with the mill which dates back to the 17th century and is all on the ground floor.


Sleeps 2, Super king size bed; or two full size singles; and a well-appointed bathroom. 

A warm and cosy sitting room/kitchen with well-designed kitchen area including quality appliances: Bosch 4D hot air electric oven, Miele induction hob, microwave, slimline dishwasher and a full-size fridge/freezer, washer/dryer. There is a dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa and a very efficient and attractive wood burning stove. High speed Wi Fi and wall mounted 43 inch 4K LG Smart TV with Freesat HD.

The bedroom with high specification furniture, has a super king bed that can also be two full size single beds if preferred - to be discussed with the owners. A hair dryer and wall mounted 43 inch 4K LG Smart TV with Freesat HD completes this comfortable room. 

The bathroom is warm and well designed with a p-shaped bath with powerful shower above, a fitted full-size hand basin and WC. In the airing cupboard is a washer dryer. 

There is a garden with lawn and stone patio - and if you sit in the garden under the shade of an old conifer tree you can see and hear the River Gavenny running below the Old Mill down the valley to meet the River Usk. There is ample parking associated with the cottage.

While the Corn Store is located in a secluded spot off of the main road it is still only a 5 minute walk to a local fish and chip shop, a pub and a convenience store selling local produce and fresh bread. 

The summits of the Skirrid, Sugar Loaf and Blorenge Mountains are within walking distance of the Corn Store making it a perfect location to explore the Black Mountains. 

Book a week in September for the famous Abergavenny Food Festival, or a week in June during its festival of cycling

Spectacular mountain scenery, a bustling market town and foods galore – Abergavenny has all the ingredients for a great holiday. Abergavenny is famed for its annual Food Festival, but you can enjoy fantastic food here all year round. For a special occasion, try The Hardwick, The Angel, The Skirrid or The Walnut Tree. Abergavenny is a great base for fantastic walking, mountain biking and road biking in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. It's easy to reach (just half an hour from the Severn Bridge) and great for a car-less holiday, with a railway station and a good bus service.
