The elegance continues upstairs to the light and spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed covered with a handmade patchwork quilt, and wonderful views across the Usk Valley to the Talybont Valley. A granary door leads down to the little terrace and garden, the perfect spot to soak up the sun. The en-suite bathroom has an over the bath shower.

This really is a super cottage. It's well equipped, cosy and comfortable. My husband and I stayed here for a 4 night break and we both felt very relaxed and at home. The woodburner looks great. Although we didn't get a chance to light it, as the weather was fairly warm. We enjoyed sitting outside with a drink and enjoying the views in the evening. Read more It feels as if a lot of love has gone into creating such a retreat. The organic apple juice (grown and pressed on site) was very much appreciated. We found Emma and John to be friendly, helpful and happy to share local knowledge. We liked being able to walk the fields straight from the cottage (ideal for a 'gentler' walk after climbing Pen-y-Fan!). The location provides an excellent base for exploring the mountains and waterfalls of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It's great for star gazing on a clear night too. We a loved visiting nearby Crickhowell, with it's independent shops and cafs. Book-ish book shop deserves a special mention - I'd easily lose hours in there! Hide

The owners were lovely and the welcome package of home made apple juice, eggs, cake and milk was really nice. The cottage was well located and nicely furnished, the views were fantastic and the shower was brilliant. We were also lucky to visit in lambing time and were fortunate to see the new rare breed lambs.

A really lovely weekend stay at Orchard Cottage. Perfect location for a weekend get-away with glorious views and an ideal base for exploring - being half way between Crickhowell and Brecon. Everything we needed was in the cottage and the bara brith was greatly appreciated. We would definitely return. Thank you.

Great cottage in a fab peaceful location. Lots of wildlife & walking straight out the door, but tons of stuff to see and do in close proximity. A short drive into Brecon for all your supplies. It is refreshing to stay somewhere with comfortable sofas, nice crockery and a decent mattress. Be sure to pop into the venison centre/farm shop (a walk overRead more the field) for some very nice produce. We absolutely loved the cottage (and John the owner) it was a perfect week and, wouldn't hesitate to return. Hide

A very warm welcome. Fun having hens and friendly black sheep around. Plenty of good walks nearby. Easy access due to road nearby although some traffic noise. The cottage is spacious and comfortable as well as rustic. Excellent bathroom. A real home from home. Owners couldn't do enough for us! A Victorian Welsh farm feel with lovely views.

The cottage is absolutely perfect for a couple looking for a quiet, peaceful place, yet still not a million miles from everywhere; ie 7 miles to Brecon. It is surprisingly spacious and very well kitted out with all the comforts of home. John, Emma, and Archie the Spaniel were very welcoming and always on hand if you needed them. There were 5 chickeRead morens that were almost domesticated that provided fresh, free, free range eggs, also very welcome. We genuinely loved it here. Hide
