A charming wooden glamping pod on a farm in the hills of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this is an ideal location for a tranquil family holiday or a remote romantic retreat, providing endless scenic walks as well as local villages steeped in history to explore. Llandovery and Trecastle – 8 and 9 miles away respectively – provide shops and pubs, while Myddfai, which can be found 4 miles along the route to Llandovery, is home to the Lady of the Lake legend. As well as being inundated with options for walks in the hills, there are various castles to visit, the closest being the ruins at Castell Carreg Cennen, 13 miles away, plus Crychan forest 15 miles to the north. The nearest attraction, only 1.5 miles away, is The Red Kite Feeding Station.
The distinctive, rounded wooden structure of the glamping pod is very inviting, especially in its setting against the beautiful backdrop of the hills. Inside, pine panelling on the walls throughout creates a very warm and comfortable atmosphere and the walls are curved, mirroring the rounded shape of the external structure. It is very light inside the pod, thanks to the glass double doors and small windows in every room which all give natural light as well as views across the fields from the different aspects, and the interior spaces are all on one level. The open plan living area comprises the kitchenette and the dining area; this area comes complete with a mini oven, microwave, two-ring ninja air fryer hob as well as a toaster and toasted sandwich maker, and the seats in the dining area can be made into an extra bed if required. There is also a small TV in the dining area. In the double bedroom there is a small set of drawers, a mirror and a hairdryer. There is a walk-in shower in the en-suite bathroom, as well as a heated towel rail and illuminated mirror.
The porch just outside the double doors provides a sheltered area to sit outside and admire the views or to take off muddy boots. Beyond the porch and down one step is a decking area, a great place for sitting out at any time of day to enjoy the views. Down a set of steps is the spacious lawn area which surrounds the pod and is enclosed with a hedge; this area includes the BBQ, picnic table and the hot tub, ideal for relaxing in privacy after a day of walking or a long drive. There is also a croquet set for playing on the lawn. At the rear of the pod is a shed with a standard-sized fridge freezer.
