Looking towards the Brecon Beacons National Park, across the Honddu Valley, this luxurious lodge is one of only two in a field on a working sheep farm. It’s a great romantic bolthole for couples looking to retreat to a rural location. From the lodge itself, there are a number of walking trails where plenty of wildlife can be seen along the way, and some of the trails lead you to the local country pub to refuel. Pen y Fan, South Wales’ highest peak, is just 200 metres from the lodge. For avid golfers, Cradoc Golf Club is 3 miles away and boasts a stunning 18-hole course. Cantref Activity and Adventure Centre (8 miles) is another great option for activities for anyone wishing to try horse riding in such a beautiful setting.

Accessed via three steps, the single-storey lodge is fully open plan, with light pouring in through the windows into the spacious area. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, the small but well-equipped kitchen has all you need to cook up a feast, and the dining table with four chairs allows you to enjoy the views while you eat. Spend lazy evenings cuddled up on the sofa (which can be converted into a double sofa bed on request) reading books, playing board games or watching films with a view of the countryside out of the window. Tucked away in one corner is a comfortable double bed, and there is also a shower room where you can refresh after a long day of exploring.

Through a set of patio doors is a balcony complete with a table and chairs to dine alfresco. Best of all, just next to the lodge is the hot tub which has been made private with three enclosed sides and a wide-open view of the stunning surroundings. Beautiful Sky Line Star gazing from the cabins is a must, also available now on request is a gas BBQ.

An absolute gem of a place, it has everything you need and can think of. Spectacular views especially while in the hot tub when it's going dark. Loved it so much we have booked to go back in August. I think I have found our new favourite place. Xx

The scenery is beautiful and the lovely cozy cabin with covered private hot tub was perfect for relaxing during a very rainy week we had there. Would definitely go again. Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating.

This little get away was mine and my partners first in 3 years, we have 4 children from 3 months - 6 years so it was well and truly needed! I couldnt have found a better place to unwind and relax, we couldnt believe the scenery and the stars! I cannot wait to return, and hopefully walk round the land!

What can we say other than we are sad to be leaving Cwmachau Cabins. We have had an amazing time visiting and exploring the local area, although we spent most of the time relaxing in the cabin and making the most of the hot tub. Jackie and Chris were superb hosts and we very much look forward to coming back in the future.
