Choose this detached lodge as your group or family holiday home to enjoy adventures at the surrounding countryside and coast whilst coming back to a luxuries- and entertainment-packed base. It sits on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in the quaint village of Coelbren, so you’ll be surrounded by scenic walking trails to explore with your pet. The spectacular Henrhyd Falls (1 mile) is a must-see (and has been used several times as a TV filming location) and you can try water sports like canoeing, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding within the park’s scenic waters. Swansea is on the coast so you can enjoy a beach day whilst visiting the exciting restaurants and cultural venues (like the Swansea Museum) that the cosmopolitan city has to offer.

Back at the cedar wood-clad lodge, take a few steps up and pass into the entrance hall where there’s a console table and space under the stairs to drop off and store your things. The open-plan living room and kitchen are laid out in an L-shape, making the two feel separate. Chill out together at the stylish, three-seater breakfast bar as you rustle up some home-cooked dinners in the modern kitchen. It’s well-equipped with highlights like a filter coffee machine, large health grill and a slow cooker. The dining table has eight chairs for full group dinners. Retire into the lounge where you can really kick back and relax in this homely space featuring a five-seater leather corner sofa and a three-seater leather sofa. Both boast manual recliners at each end and there’s a flame effect electric stove for extra cosiness and relaxation. You’ll never get bored with all the games and mod cons: challenge other guests to a round on the small pool table behind the sofas, snuggle up for films using the TV with Sky Cinema or play together on the Xbox and Xbox, both with games. Patio doors that lead to the rear decking make this open-plan space extra bright and sociable. The ground floor also has a shower room with a large shower enclosure (with one step) and a utility room with a washer/dryer and space to store belongings or even set up the pet bowls. Head upstairs to the first-floor master bedroom: a double featuring an en-suite shower room with dual function shower. There’s a TV and Amazon Fire stick for entertainment without having to leave the comfort of your bed. The first-floor twin room also has a TV with Amazon Firestick; while the cosy family room has a double bed and bunk beds. Rejuvenate or bathe the kids in the modern family bathroom with a bath and separate shower enclosure with dual function shower.

The luxurious, private wooden decking to the outer side and rear of the lodge (with steps and ramped access from the gravelled area) has to be a holiday home highlight. Make memories together in the fresh, country air: there are sun loungers for kicking back; a large charcoal BBQ and wooden table with benches and a sun umbrella for al fresco dining; and a six-seater hot tub for excellent pampering with views of the surrounding fields. Patio lighting means you can socialise into the evenings until 11PM.

I can't speak highly enough about the stunning surroundings, beautiful lodge and the overall experience. The accommodation was comfortable, and the amenities were top notch. Great location - Lots of things to do locally. The owners left a variety of foods (bread, Welsh cakes, Bara Brith, tea bags, milk, butter, dog food and dog treats) to see us thRead morerough the first night. The hot tub was absolutely wonderful! The pool table was also a hit! I would definitely recommend this lodge. Hide

We had an amazing time for my mums 50th birthday and our group included a 1 year old and a 79 year old. We all enjoyed the facilities, location, hot tub and games. Definitely going to be booking again for sure. Also as a side note, the welcome package was a really nice surprise and something you dont always get on a weekend away!

Generally the cottage was lovely and well equipped. Very spacious with comfortable seating. The TVs were a good size and the fact that they had sky etc was a bonus. The pool table was a nice addition and the hot tub was great. Also the barbecue on the decking was a high standard. Although the kitchen was well equipped it was missing a bread knife, Read morehowever I am sure had we contacted the owner they would have bought one round for us. We had a very nice week in a generally well appointed and situated lodge Hide

A fabulous lodge where the owners have really thought about entertainment, especially for adults and teenagers. Between the hot tub, pool table, Wii, x box + sky and netflix, my boys were not keen on leaving. The welcome pack was amazing and our little dog loved her treats.
