This cosy cottage is ideal for two couples or a small family wanting to make the most of this beautiful part of Wales, where the diverse scenery includes rolling countryside, valleys, waterfalls, canal paths and caves. The property adjoins the owner’s house in the rural hamlet of Pentre-bach on the northern edge of Brecon Beacons National Park and is equidistant to the market towns of Brecon and Llandovery (12 miles). Family-friendly attractions include Llangorse Multi Activity Centre (19 miles) and Fforest Fawr Geopark, a landscape sculpted by ice then transformed by man (12 miles). Water sports enthusiasts are well catered for with the River Usk providing white water canoeing (3 miles) as well as opportunities for wild brown trout, salmon and sea trout fishing. There are also plenty of cycling and walking routes in the area.

The lounge features exposed stone walls, quarry tiled floors and oak beams and open stairs leading to the bedrooms. A wood burner is set in the stone fireplace and double-glazed doors from the lounge lead to the garden. Adjoining the lounge is the kitchen and a dining table with four chairs, and a bathroom with a shower. Upstairs are two double bedrooms with oak floors and Velux skylights with blackout blinds to ensure a good night’s sleep.

As well as a seating area in front of the cottage, there’s a large lawn to the rear and an additional lawn area overlooking the confluence of two small rivers across the road. Note that this garden is shared with the owner’s house next door and that young children and/or pets will need to be supervised as the lawn area is open to the river.

A lovely cosy cottage with log burner in the middle of nowhere, sheer bliss. A community run pub almost next door that served good food was a bonus. We took our 3 German Shepherds and did lots of walking without having to drive too far. We arrived to some lovely homemade goodies and nice eggs from the free range hens that roamed the garden.

Lovely stay! The weather has not been kind but we've done so much. Waterfall walks, zip lining and renewing our love of Welsh cakes! A gorgeous break in your cottage. Thank you

Thank you for our lovely stay. It was our first time in Wales and we enjoyed it very much for all the delicious things on arriving. Mainly because it was all homemade. It was super!!

Had a fantastic week in this lovely cottage. Janet and Hywell were very welcoming and helpful, lovely people. Ticked a few things off of our to do list, Pen y Fan, 4 waterfalls, Tenby. Wales is a beautiful country and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you

A comfortable clean and well equipped cottage in a delightful scenic and peaceful location. The Pentrebach village pub, The Shoemakers Arms, is half a minute away, and is excellent. Our two meals there were a highlight of our stay

1st time we used Original Cottages and was impressed by the choice of properties, description of facilities and nearby amenities. We wanted a comfortable, relaxing break and that's exactly what we got. Cottage owners greeted us warmly and left us some lovely home made jam and fresh eggs to enjoy.
