Treat yourself and your family to a luxurious holiday on the Welsh border. This townhouse is situated right next to Hay Castle in Hay-on-Wye, a lovely town with an annual festival and plenty of bookshops. There’s space for a mixed group or a family trip with grandparents, and the dogs are welcome to come along.
You’ll enter the property through a side door down a passage, which leads into the lounge. It’s immediately timeless, welcoming and cosy with exposed brick and a wood burner, plus an archway which leads through to the kitchen/diner. This room has a large table with room for everyone, and it ends with bi-fold glass doors to the garden, so you’ll get lots of natural light. The last room on the ground floor is a lobby, which has a WC and laundry facilities. Head upstairs for the bedrooms. The first has a king-size bed and a Juliet balcony, then an en-suite bathroom with a handheld shower over the roll-top bath. The next bathroom also has a king-size bed, a window seat, exposed beams and an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower. Finally, there’s a twin bedroom and a family shower room. Check out the gorgeous garden, which combines a lawn with a patio area. There are sun loungers on the lawn, and the patio has an outdoor dining area and a BBQ. Everything is secured by a wooden fence.
You’ll be staying right in the heart of Hay-on-Wye, about 100 metres from the castle and 100 metres from the river. It’s a lovely place to amble around, so why not check out local shops and eateries? The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park is 13.5 miles away, great for day trips, long walks and picnics.
