Elegant, spacious and full of light, this former farm building has been beautifully converted to provide a fabulous holiday destination for solo travellers and couples looking for a romantic retreat. Located on a hilltop 8 miles from Chepstow, it has mountain views and a garden table from which you can enjoy gorgeous sunsets.
Set on the far side of the owner’s historic home, this delightful stone building is furnished in a timeless style, blending traditional looks with all the modern comforts you’ll need. Pretty soft furnishings add to the welcoming feel and make it just like a home from home. The open-plan living space is light and airy, with a gorgeous kitchen at one end, a dining table for four, and comfortable seating gathered around a wood burner and a Smart TV. Dual-aspect windows look towards the far-off hills. The bedroom has a tranquil ambience and features a lovely metal king-size bed, as well as an en-suite bathroom. On warm days, why not take your food outside to eat on the patio - or grill something delicious on the BBQ? You can wander down to the orchard (spot the orchids!), stroll up to the bank and watch the sun set over the Sugar Loaf, Skirrid and Bannau Brycheiniog, then return to your garden and keep warm by the fire pit as the stars twinkle above.
The cottage is set within 21 acres in the Vale of Usk and enjoys panoramic views through a circle of trees. As you de-stress in the woodland and meadows around, you might hear nightjars and spot deer or hares. Explore the Wye Valley, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and the Forest of Dean on foot or by bike, or head to Tintern Abbey, 9 miles, or the Roman amphitheatre in Caerleon, 15 miles.
