Feeling very private, but just 300m from the local village pub, this luxurious rural escape is set on the outskirts of the hillside village of Bwlch, and enjoys spectacular views of the Black Mountains. With spacious rooms, gorgeous gardens and four comfortable bedrooms, this impressive detached house is a wonderful holiday destination for large families or groups of friends.

Arrive via the gated driveway, leave your wellies in the porch and head for the superb kitchen/diner, which features bespoke cabinetry, built-in appliances and a spacious dining table. After supper you can decide whether to relax in the elegant lounge, which has a wood burner, or the cosy snug, where there are board games and toys. Both rooms have Smart TVs. Also on this level are a utility room with laundry facilities and a shower room with a WC. The four bedrooms - two king-size and two twin - are on the first floor, and benefit from stunning country views. They share a family bathroom and a shower room. On the wraparound terrace you’ll find a BBQ and dining furniture, so you can grill something tasty and spend an evening alfresco. Alternatively, gather around the fire pit, or climb up to the viewing terrace and enjoy sunsets and stargazing.

The village of Bwlch has a lively pub and is 2 miles from Llangynidr, where you’ll find shops, pubs, a tea room and a restaurant, as well as access to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. There are numerous scenic walks from your front door or, at Llangorse Lake, 5 miles, you can try a variety of water sports or go pony trekking. The picturesque market towns of Crickhowell and Brecon are 6 and 8 miles away respectively, and Hay-on-Wye - renowned for its book shops and literary festivals - is 13 miles.

We have been to many holiday cottages over the years and this has been the best equipped. The kitchen was fully equipped with tea, coffee, ice in the freezer, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, etc. Each of the showers had shower gel (never seen that before), plenty of towels, toilet rolls etc. The furniture was comfortable and the garden beautifuRead morel, despite the occasional invasion of sheep. Would highly recommend. Andy Hide

We had a really lovely time, the house was warm and cosy, ideal for our family needs! It is set in a beautiful part of Wales and is very well equipped. We were celebrating a special birthday with three generations of the family and there was something for everyone.

We had a wonderful week staying at Cae Glas. We came over Christmas, the house was decorated for us! The cottage had absolutely everything we needed. It is in a gorgeous, scenic location with fantastic local walks and nearby towns and villages. The house is extremely clean and comfortable, the feel is modern cottagey, with very comfy beds and sofasRead more, warm lighting, modern bathrooms. Despite vile weather we felt cosy and warm; we also got some lovely walks in. Owner v helpful too. Recommend highly Hide

A beautiful and well appointed house with ample room for 8 occupants. Nice touches with books and childrens toys and there are enough plates and cutlery so that you dont need to put the dishwasher on every time you eat. Definitely recommended.
