This traditional stone renovated granary is set in the heart of a working farm and offers a cosy base that is perfect for couples wanting to enjoy the rugged landscape and many market towns of the Brecon Beacons.

Enjoy a romantic escape to this quaint and unique property tucked into the Welsh countryside, close to Hay-on-Wye, walking routes and a variety of activities. Sleeping two guests and welcoming a well-behaved dog, this is the perfect spot to enjoy your Welsh holiday from. Enter this stone annexe into an open-plan, contemporary living space. Exposed brick and overhead beams add character to the space, and the furnishings and decor offer a warm welcome. A kitchenette has everything you need to cook breakfast, prepare lunch or create a delicious dinner, before eating together at the dining table. Kick back and relax on the sofas while playing games together or watching the TV. When it's time to get some well-deserved sleep, head up to the cosy double room via the pull-down ladder. This rural farm is close the hamlet of Painscastle (0.5 miles) that has a delightful country pub. 3.5 miles away is the delightful National Trust owned land, The Begwyns, take a walk and admire the breathtaking views that surround you. Romantic, literary town Hay-on-Wye is 7 miles away, famed for its International Book Festival and plethora of bookstores. You will also find plenty of bars, restaurants, and pubs to keep you occupied. 12 miles south is the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, a haven for cyclists, walkers, and activity seekers. Climb Waun Fach, the highest mountain in the Black Mountains, the hike starts from Castell Dinas (16.5 miles away). If you prefer staying closer to sea level, visit Llangorse Lake (17.5 miles) for fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Absolutely stunning property. It's as beautiful in reality as it is in the photo's. The property is well equipped with all that you need. There are wonderful walks up in to the hills right on the doorstep. Being on a working farm, it was lovely to see the animals with their young. The owners were very welcoming & helpful and always had time for a cRead morehat. So many places to visit for days out, just short drives away. Would totally recommend to anyone wanting an idyllic break away in the countryside. Hide

Amazing place- Sarah and Andrew are lovely. Super cosy and close to great hill walks behind the farm. Beautiful stars at night and surrounded by nature and animals.

Very friendly hosts. The Granary is in a stunningly beautiful and peaceful location. We loved all the wildlife around the property. A perfect retreat for those loving the countryside.

I stayed at The Granary with my dog. We found it a great location for lots of walks. Some 30 mins away some 50 mins but the drives were quiet and easy. The cottage was comfortable with everything I needed for the stay. The owners greeted me and were very friendly, they left a welcome basket and milk for much needed coffee. For a farm it was lovely Read moreand quiet, no early morning noises. I would stay again if they would have me perhaps in the spring. Hide

We had a fantastic stay. It was in the perfect location and the cottage was ideal for our needs. We had an amazing welcome and ongoing communication with Andrew and Sarah who made us feel like we were part of the family. Living on a working farm was amazing. We had such a wonderful stay, we were greeted beautifully by the whole family and were made to feel at home. It was the perfect, quiet and cosy base for us to explore the surrounding areas. A lovely little hideaway to escape the pressures of London!
