At dinner time, choose from the delightful dining table next to the bi-fold doors or, on a warm evening, dine outside on the covered terrace. Keen walkers will love exploring the Elan Valley. The 70-square-mile estate is awash with reservoirs and dams, creating a huge variety of picturesque walking trails for all abilities. Brecon – the northern gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park – is 16.5 miles from the lodge. Here you can potter around the independent boutiques and dine in the cute cafes, before taking a stroll along the towpath of the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal. Finally, bookworms can’t come to this neck of the woods without visiting Hay-on-Wye, which is home to over 20 bookshops!
