A pretty and romantic cottage covered in ivy and tucked away in the Black Mountains. This is the perfect spot to enjoy walks, bike rides or just admire the views, ideal for two people to escape the hustle and bustle.

Retreat to this delightful and spacious, one-bedroom cottage near Pengenffordd, in the Brecon Beacons National Park, which sits in the same courtyard as the Owners home. Enjoy the romance of this exquisite former barn, which sleeps up to three guests and captures views out towards the Black Mountains. Take two happy hounds with you to enjoy long walks and to run free in the enclosed exercise area close to home. Follow footpaths, visit local towns and villages or simply soak up the serenity of the setting.

 

Make your way into this gorgeous stone holiday home, which has been beautifully converted to create an enchanting hideaway. Find the enticing lounge/diner, with its white-painted, stone walls, wooden floor and beams, is very much the heart of this magical Welsh country property. Fire up the wood burner then bask in its glow as you watch the TV, which has Freesat, or settle down in front of a DVD. Cook up tasty treats in the charming, galley-style kitchen, with its electric cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, then enjoy them at the table or out in the garden. Discover the shower room, which has an electric shower, is also on the ground floor. Climb up to the mezzanine level above the lounge to find a bedroom, with both a king-size bed and a single bed. On warm mornings, enjoy breakfast in the garden and on balmy evenings, fire up the BBQ and dine against the beautiful, mountainous backdrop.

 

Walk 2 miles into Talgarth to browse in its shops, book a table in one of its restaurants or to visit its famous mill and bakery. Head a further 10 miles into Hay-on-Wye, famous for its annual literary festival, for more independent outlets, including numerous bookshops. Follow woodland walks and cycle trails from the cottage or drive to Llangorse Lake, 4 miles away, for fishing and water sports.

We've been very happy with our stay at Trewalkin Barn, we found the barn very comfortable and cosy indeed, Georgina and partner looked after us very well as it was a little cold on account of the weather, could'nt ask for more really, certainly to be recommended. A+++ many thanks.

Comfortable, cosy, well-equipped, clean, attractive, we loved the cottage and felt it was very good value for money. It felt like we were in a remote location, but it was only about 4 minutes drive to Talgarth. The kitchen was especially nice to cook in and better equipped than most holiday lets weve experienced. Trewalkin Barn is a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay. All you need for a stay in the area is provided, it couldn't be better organised. A great location with many walks starting from the front door. The location is quiet yet close to the small town of Talgarth. Low level walks or challenging ridge walks are in easy reach of the barn. The barn conversion was simply perfect and lived up to all of the positive reviews we had read and met all of our expectations. The whole process from booking to staying in the accommodation was straight forward. Lovely to receive a welcome bottle of wine, a stack of wood for the wood-burning stove, and provisions in kitchen (milk, tea, coffee). Barn well presented and comfortable, owners welcoming and good comms.

The property was clean, cosy and comfy, with everything you'll need to self cater. The views out the window were great and it's located in an excellent place to complete the Dragons Back including Waun Fach and Mynnyd Troed if you're in to hiking. The owners were very friendly, and honestly I want to go back in the future!

This is a sweet cosy cottage. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. The owners are lovely and very helpful. The little garden is great for the dogs and sitting in the sunshine. And so many stars at night. Some good walks can be had without going in the car. This is definitely sheep country but there is a marvellous dog park just down the road whRead moreere dogs can run free my two had a great time. Cosy cottage with all amenities you would need for this type of holiday as well as extra touches - puzzles, small book library, nostalgic dvd collection, wine/cakes/coffee/milk lovely touches. Excellent stay. Really well equipped cottage with everything we could possible need. Cottage was really clean, cosy and in such a beautiful location. Great to have a secure garden for our dog too. Host was prompt with communication and ever so friendly. So much to do within easy travelling distance - we would love to come back.

The cottage was lovely comfortable and quaint. We especially liked the enclosed garden for our 4 legged companion made the stay more relaxed for all. We as a family (me, my wife and my son) wanted to have a relaxing holiday and our stay in this cottage has fulfilled our dream. Nice country side location, spotlessly clean cottage, warm welcome with a bottle of wine made our stay perfect. We will definitely recommend this for a small family who love to stay in the midst of the nature.

Trewalkin barn is beautiful. Its in a great location with some amazing views and walks right on the door step. Everything else is just a short drive away. Gorgina was an amazing host and on hand if we needed anything. Just a shame we couldnt of stayed longer.

We really enjoyed our stay at Trewalkin Barn. It is set in a beautiful part of Wales, surrounded by the sounds of the countryside. The secure garden was a perfect spot to have a drink in the sun and a great area for the dog to run around safely.
