Heading upstairs, find two bedrooms set out across the first and second floors. Find the beautiful village of Talybont-on-Usk directly on your doorstep, boasting 2 local pubs and a café with a shop and post office, to host you throughout your stay. The Talybont Reservoir lies a little further afield (2 miles) with waterside walks and fishing aplenty. Discover Brecon’s highest peak, Pen Y Fan mountain, less than 10 miles away, a challenging yet rewarding walk, or travel a little further to the stunning waterfall area or Waun Fach peak (17.5 miles). Alternatively, those looking for calmer day-to-day activities will benefit from relaxing day trips to Crickhowell (7 miles) and Brecon (7 miles).

Lovely cottage with everything you could wish for. The garden for the dog was secure and big enough to allow for a little exercise. Both of the pubs were welcoming and served excellent beer.

Fantastic stay at Groves Cottage. Spotless and cosy with enough room for three adults. Close proximity to a couple of pubs and plenty of walks from the doorstep. Parking is tight unless your car is small.

We had a lovely stay at Groves Cottage. It was a comfortable and homely base for our holiday with everything we needed to hand. Loved having the shop and cafe down the road and the garden and balcony to enjoy when the sun shine. Beautiful area for walking and exploring Bannau Brychieniog.

Great little cottage for our short break in the Brecon Beacons. Efficient, well equipped kitchen and loved lighting the log burner in the evenings. Perfectly situated between Brecon and Crickhowell, easy access to lots of walking.

Lovely homely cottage in a very friendly village. Well equipped with a generous supply of logs. Very clean and comfortable. So many lovely walks so close by, good very dog friendly pubs and a brilliant local shop on the doorstep.. I watched woodpeckers, buzzards a kite, nuthatches and a pair of Herons defending their nest all within less than a milRead moree from the cottage. Will be back as soon as we can. Hide

We enjoyed our prolonged weekend in the middle of Brecon Beacons which this cottage definitely supports. We appreciated the idyllic location and the enclosed garden as we brought our dog on the vacation. We will come back to the area and will definitely consider this cottage again

this is a cozy cottage conveniently located and comfortable. everything you need for a base in this lovely part of the world. could be spruced up a bit but its still nice and no complaints.

We had such a wonderful stay, the cottage location is perfect for walking (we did 2 excellent hikes from the doorstep) and a cute dog friendly pub directly across the road. We enjoyed a great week at Groves cottage. The cottage was so full of character it added to the trip. Walks from the front door, 2 pubs on your doorstep and the canal shop has everything you could need. The secure rose garden was a haven for both us and the dog. Would highly recommend.

It was ideally situated for visits to the Brecon Mountain Railway, watching the stars over the Usk reservoir, the National Show-caves, trips along the canal, and beautiful walks along the river and in the hills. Lovely view from the upper floor terrace with Kite occasionally flying overhead. Food at the Star pub is excellent and also the range of beers. Agreat centre for keen walkers but also for couples like us that prefer to tour the local countryside and towns by car. A perfect weeks holiday

A very cosy and well equipped cottage in perfect location. Owner even checked twice with us that we had got spare linen as were there for two weeks. Both pubs within 2 minutes walk and both do excellent food. Village shop has everything you'll need and nice cafe. Bike hire in village is excellent. Owner a font of knowledge for places to visit. CanaRead morel on doorstep for gentle walks but only a short drive for strenuous ones. Supermarket 10 minute drive. Can't recommend it enough. Super stay. Hide

Very cosy country cottage in a small hamlet with two good pubs and an excellent shop/CAFE two minutes walk away. Brilliant cooked breakfasts and well stocked shop. Right opposite the canal so lots of flat walking. Well equipped. Attic room can get a little hot but plenty of windows to open.

This was a lovely cottage, really Relaxing in the perfect location. Cost and romantic cottage with a god sized en loaded garden for the dog . It had everything you need for the perfect holiday to rest and unwind with amazing scenery and beautiful walk. We would Definitely go back again .

This is a lovely cottage in an excellent location and is a great base to enjoy the surrounding area. The cottage has everything you need and the woodburner is an added joy. Unfortunately both local pubs had staffing issues so they had limited opening times, however, we used the Royal Oak in Pencelli (1.5 mls) and would recommend it highly. A lovely, warm and cosy cottage. Very clean and well equipped too. Plentiful supply of logs for the woodburner, which was much appreciated, as some places barely leave any supply. Lovely to be able to walk from the door along the canal in either direction and up to the reservoir too.

A lovely place to stay with walks from the door and always something interesting to see on the canal. The log fire is a bonus in the evenings. We loved Talybont and walking along the river, canal and tramways. Sunday lunch at the Star was delicious.
