An attractively styled Welsh cottage for a small family, set in the centre of Brecon, with riverside views and perfectly placed for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park on foot or by bike.
Wonderfully located in the heart of the bustling market town of Brecon, escape to this contemporary cottage for a breath of fresh air. Sitting close to the town’s tasty eateries, thriving galleries and beautiful cathedral, you can wander into the town centre or take a stroll along the River Usk with ease. First, enjoy an al fresco breakfast on the waterside balcony where you might spot kingfishers, herons or otters.
Make your way up some steps and find yourself in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Exposed beams line the ceilings and bursts of colour create a bright, welcoming space, perfect for relaxing in after days spent in the great outdoors. If you can tear yourself away from the comfortable sofa, step into the kitchen and cook up a storm to be plated at the communal table for a sociable feast. If there’s a chill in the air, get the wood burner roaring, or open the bi-fold balcony doors to let the sunshine in on warm days. As day turns to night, descend to the ground floor and rest your head in one of two inviting bedrooms, a king-size and a zip-and-link king-size. Kick start the day with a walk-in shower in the family bathroom or soak your muscles in the bath and prepare for the day ahead.
From your front door, you can walk into Brecon and visit the cathedral, make a lunch pitstop or meander the streets which are lined with gorgeous Georgian and Jacobean shop fronts. To climb the highest peak in South Wales, make the 6-mile journey to Pen y Fan where you’ll be treated to magnificent panoramic views. Try your hand at water sports or enjoy a stroll around the largest natural lake in South Wales at Llangorse (7 miles).
