Less than 0.5 miles from the market town’s eateries, shops and culture spots and surrounded by the untamed beauty of the National Park, everyone from outdoor adventurers to wildlife lovers to urbanites will love this retreat.

The ideal holiday cottage for large groups celebrating a special occasion or gathering for an overdue get-together, this spacious property has multi-generational appeal. The heart of the home, the generous kitchen/diner is equipped with plenty of space for food prep and a sweeping dining table with enough room for the pack. Pass around plates of food and pop bottles before letting the dishwasher take care of the dirty work and heading to the lounge for long hours of chatter, toasting toes in front of the flame-effect gas fire. Ensuring everyone can savour some rest, the property has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Enjoying pride of place in Brecon, the cottage’s proximity to local hotspots will be a real draw. Wander the historic streets and visit the museum, cathedral and host of independent shops and galleries. The local theatre, Theatr Brycheiniog is a short walk away with a varied programme, there is something to suit all ages. The theatre is set on the canal basin which is a lovely area to sit and people watch with a nice coffee or locally made ice-cream. Making use of the property’s space to wash and store mountain bikes, a ride along the Taff Trail or Lôn Las Cymru will also be a must. For peaceful walks, visit Llangorse Lake (6.5 miles) or Talgarth Mill (10 miles), or for something a little more challenging, hike to Pen y Fan (6.5 miles).
