Sleeping eight people across five bedrooms and welcoming three canine companions, this elegant property is steeped in history and is a big hit with large families or groups of friends who want to get away from it all and stay in an utterly unique, impressive property. You can’t help but feel immersed in history the second you set eyes on this property. An ancient oak front entrance carved with ‘1673’ – complete with its own colossal iron key – welcomes you into this medieval Welsh cottage. Step inside and you’ll find yourself surrounded by antiques, original oil paintings and wooden beams. Cook up a feast in the contemporary-style kitchen and dine together at the large table in the dining area. Alternatively, step outside into the garden and fire up the BBQ. After dinner, chill out around the fire pit in the garden, head indoors to relax in front of the inglenook fireplace in the living room, or enjoy a game of pool or snooker in the games’ room while the kids head off to the playroom. At the end of the day climb the wooden spiral staircase and you’ll five impressive bedrooms to choose from. The romantic ruins of Grosmont Castle (0.2 miles) are on your doorstep. Built in the early 13th-century, a stroll around its ruins is sure to fire your historic imagination. Drive just 6.5 miles and you’ll find yourself in the splendour of Brecon Beacons National Park. While you’re there, make a pit-stop at the Sugar Loaf Vineyard (11 miles) and sample some local wine or cheese.

• Property sleeps 8+2 (security deposit will increase to £500 when occupied with 10 persons)

• A games rooms with snooker/pool table, Sonos sound system and Smart TV, and a children’s playroom with Wii provide two wonderful entertaining areas for the adults and little ones to enjoy themselves. Open fire in the sitting room and wood burner in the games room (a basket of logs provided for each).
• Smart TV, AGA oven, separate double electric oven, gas hob, and a large fridge/freezer with water dispenser and icemaker, and 2 dishwashers. A 6-seater breakfast bar, and extendable 10-person dining table offer space for groups to socialise.
• Catered and served dinner and drinks parties can be arranged with the owner.
• There is a washing machine and a tumble dryer for your convenience.
• 4 en-suite bathrooms all with showers over bath, 1 free-standing slipper bath in the ‘King Charles’ bedroom with en-suite shower and WC, separate WC on the ground floor.
• 5 Smart TVs with full unlimited Sky packages
• Outdoor furniture, BBQ, garden games and fire pit. Bike storage available.
• Due to the traditional character of the cottage, the wooden spiral/curved stairs are not standard, they’re period of age and slightly uneven, and character sloped ceilings result in restricted head height upstairs.
• Regret that there are no electric charging facilities at the property and will require you to charge at the nearest charging point during your stay.

• 3 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
