Find your romantic heaven at this luxury lodge set in a wooded location in the village of Gilwern, near Abergavenny. Exquisitely designed for two guests and also welcoming one dog with open paws, this delightful, one-bedroom holiday home has been stylishly finished and comes complete with a private hot tub, enclosed veranda, cottage garden and wood burner. Simply relax and take in the glorious views from the charming abode or head out to explore the Brecon Beacons and to walk beside the River Usk, enjoying the scenery as you go. Follow the steps up to the lodge, which has underfloor heating, and enter to find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Pull open the bi-folding doors to bring the outside in or light the wood burner and relax in front of the Smart TV/DVD. Prepare romantic meals for two in the kitchen area then dine outside on the balcony or in as you gaze out at the magical views. Wander through to the super-king-size room, which has zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as twins in advance if required. Find you have a modern bathroom at the property. Make the most of your outside space and light the BBQ or fire up the hot tub as often as you wish. There is outside storage for bicycles and parking for one car at the lodge. Take long walks beside the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and watch the colourful barges float by. Go fishing here too, or try Talybont Reservoir, 15 miles away. Drive 15 miles in the other direction to Llandegfedd to go sailing, canoeing or kayaking. Dine out in bustling Abergavenny, 4 miles away, which is renowned for its restaurants, food festival and farmers’ market. Head 4 miles into Crickhowell to see the remains of its castle and to browse in its independent shops.

Amazing little lodge with a stunning view. The owners are so friendly, with fab advice and interact with you as little or as much as you like. Absolutely loved our stay with cute touches such as dog treats and cant wait to stay again!!

A great little hideaway. Very clean, tidy and comfortable. We did a lot of walking so a soak in the hot tub was a luxury for tired feet & legs. The owner supplied a lot of free washing/ dishwasher tabs and there's plenty of drying space at the back of the property. We stayed here over Christmas and it was absolutely perfect. Im used to staying in caravans so always come prepared with dish cloths and salt and pepper etc but this was not necessary here. Fabulous lodge , with outstanding views from the hot tub and balcony, Everything that you need for a fantastic week was supplied , the bed was really comfortable ,the shower was nice and hot. The location of the cottage is superb, lots of walks around and the dog loves them! The village pubs are great and welcoming, the facilities at the cottage are great and well thought out.

We had the best week. The lodge was beautiful, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The views were like a picture postcard. The owners were really friendly and gracious and although the lodge was in their garden, we didnt feel that our privacy was comprised at all. The location was perfect. The lodge is in a very good location for walking and exploring the area. It is only a 10 minute walk from the Beaufort pub in Gilwern which is excellent for food and drinks.

Lovely clean and comfortable place to stay. The main house is much closer than we envisaged which made us somewhat uncomfortable as the upstairs windows overlooked where we were staying. Had a lovely holiday here. The property has everything you need (hot tub is a lovely bonus!), is very clean and in a brilliant location. It is situated in the back garden on the owners. However, it is quite private. Definitely recommend.

We had a lovely week here in February getting out and about walking with our golden retriever. We had some lovely meals at local pubs and enjoyed the cosy lodge with the fire and hot tub! Unfortunately we didn't have great weather but it was lovely to get away and the lodge has everything you need.

A perfect base for exploring the Black Mountains. Lime Tree Lodge had all the comforts of home...and then some (hot tub was a real treat!). Really comfy place to be, with a well-kitted out kitchen for all our self-catering plans. The local area was wonderful...we had such an enjoyable holiday.

One of the most important things on a holiday is the ccommodtion and, in this case, it ws excellent. The web site description and photographs give you a clear and honest picture of what to expect. Everything had been thought of by the owners so the stay was as near perfect as possible.
