Steal away for an unforgettable break in the heart of the Welsh countryside, staying in this pretty ‘perfect for two’ cottage. No expense has been spared in the preparation of this luxury property, where small but thoughtful additions ensure you’ll want for nothing throughout your stay.

Happily welcoming two dogs to stay in the holiday home with you, this charming property offers the perfect base for those wanting to explore Brecon’s impressive mountains and distinctive walking routes. There’s also the soothing addition of on-site spa treatments for those looking for a much more laid-back romantic retreat.

Step inside and discover an ever-cosy lounge/diner with more than enough space for you and your partner to unwind. There’ll be no vying for space on the generous L-shaped couch, and the Smart TV and Blu-ray player ensure you’ll find plenty in the way of entertainment. In winter months, be sure to throw a log or two on the fire to enjoy the warming ambience of the wood burner, ideal for those cosy late nights in. Small touches have been thought of in the contemporary kitchen where the dishwasher, washer/dryer and coffee machine ensure you’ve got all the mod cons you may require. Continue into the first floor to discover a pretty bedroom with a charming decor including original beams, alongside a spacious and inviting walk-in dressing room.

Once you’ve enjoyed drinks on the patio and you’ve roamed the meadows to your heart’s content, step outside and explore Brecon further afield. This Dark Sky Reserve Status area is filled with thrilling walks for both day and night, including mountain hikes up the Pen y Fan close by (6 miles). Alternatively, for those who intend to leave the hiking boots at home, relaxing day trips to Brecon (3.5 miles) and Crickhowell (11.5 miles) are just a car journey away.

Comfortable, thoughtful additions and spacious. From a well equipped kitchen to bath robes there were plenty of little touches that help the holiday. The location was peaceful with plenty of parkland for our dogs to run.

We just loved the cottage. The location was perfect with a field just behind for the dog to play. Absolutely love that. Lost of walks in the surrounding area.

Probably one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. Comfortable and with the field and garden a dream location for our Labrador. The owners are very pleasant and helpful so all in all an highly enjoyable break in a quiet location.

The cottage is beautiful, so well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Our stay at the The (Chestnut) Cottage was fantastic. We could not have asked for a better experience, so perfect for us and our springer spaniel.
