Upper Bull Pen is a recently completed converted barn done to an exceptionally high standard. It has retained its traditional character but has been decorated and furnished in a contemporary manner. It is set in glorious countryside, surrounded by rolling fields, farmsteads dotted up the valley, livestock roaming the fields and red kites soaring above. This is a lovely place to stay perhaps with friends in the adjoining Lower Bull Pen. There are two really comfortable bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a spacious sittingroom, with access onto a large decked area. Visitors always remark on how they love the feel and ambience of the two barns. The large dining room downstairs has an antique table and chairs to accommodate eight people, adjoining a large modern kitchen. Everything has been thought of to ensure visitors have everything they need to make for an enjoyable holiday in the Brecon Beacons National Park. For bird watchers a good place to stay - the valley is so tranquil and peaceful there are numerous unusual species of birds resident birds. The owners are very happy to show visitors the beef farm; in the neighbouring fields in the spring you can see the new born lambs or chasing around in the fields. Hire Mountain Bikes and have them delivered to the door and explore the new Epynt Way a long distance path and Cycle Trail. Only 2.5 miles to the nearest local pub The Shoemaker's Arms, a community owned pub and very popular place for delicous home cooked food and real ales.

The kitchen of the Upper Bull Pen is very spacious, with white Shaker-style units and plenty of storage space, work surfaces and a pine table and chairs seating four comfortably. The kitchen is equipped with electric halogen hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, upright fridge/freezer and microwave. The slate floor has under-floor heating, and there is a door leading from here to a ground floor seating area with table, chairs and charcoal barbeque.
The separate dining area is very spacious and has an antique table and chairs for eight.
Bedroom 1: twin bedroom, which has an en-suite double shower, WC and hand basin.
Bedroom 2: which is a double with en suite bathroom, wc, handbasin and heated towel rail.
The upstairs sitting room is very spacious with a high ceiling having a magnificent oak A frame. The lovely Farrow and Ball contemporary colour used on the feature wall enhances this cosy living space with oak floor and wood burner set in the hand-hewn fire surround.
The two comfortable sofas, and flat screen TV and DVD make this a very appealing room to be in where you can enjoy the wonderful views through the large French doors. These open out onto a spacious wooden deck and terrace where you can sit out in the evening with a drink and admire the fine views of the surrounding hills. Childrens play area and Hot tub available.
Beautifully converted to an exceptionally high standard from the original 17th Century barns, the two cottages have a contemporary, yet comfortable and homely feel. The craftsmen builders have retained the original oak beams, and some of the stonework. The owners are very happy to help guests make the most of their stay and have plenty of local information and recommended places to visit in the area.

This ias an ideal base for exploring the area. The market town of Brecon is only a 20 minute drive away; famed for its impressive Cathedral, a bustling town centre with cafes, shops and supermarkets, a Farmer's Market, an excellent cinema, theatre, museums and a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool. For guests wishing to go to the coast the wonderful Gower beaches are an excellent day trip option as would be a day out exploring Pembrokeshire.
The Epynt Way passes near the owners land and gives access to around 40 miles of walking. Horses welcome on discussion with the owners. The nearest village with a pub is 5 miles away. 7 miles to Cradoc with Golf Club, Brecon 9 miles, Sennybridge 5 miles.
