The cottages each provide accommodation for 6 people but an interlinking double internal door enables them to be used as one large, 6 bedroomed cottage. Each cottage has been furnished and decorated to an exceptionally high standard with great attention to detail and both are extremely family friendly with wonderful facilities for children of all ages. Everyone will love the spacious games room and the farm surroundings offer endless space as well as wildlife-spotting opportunities. Come during lambing season and the owners are happy to give you the tour but with Brecon just 6 miles away and some excellent walking and cycling on your doorstep, these cottages offer the perfect family-friendly base all year round.
Fantastic accommodation
Brook Cottage has been furnished and decorated to an exceptionally high standard. The spacious and very comfortable open plan living area has a well fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. There is a spacious eating area with dining table and chairs and the sitting area has comfortable sofas, chairs and a TV with DVD and video. A door opens out from the kitchen on to the sunny patio with views over the surrounding farmland.
Whilst the ground floor has beautiful wood floors, the upstairs is fully carpeted and, like downstairs, features lovely beams.

The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet and handbasin.

Brook Cottage
Brook Cottage occupies one half of a delightfully converted 18th century barn. Exposed stone walls and incredible oak beams enclose the modern and spacious accommodation. Brook Cottage sleeps 6 in one double room with en-suite and two further twin rooms with use of the family bathroom. The ground floor is completely open plan with wonderful wood floors and a sunny patio provides a lovely breakfast spot in the summer months.Wonderful farm setting
Brook and Apple Tree Cottage are situated on Cwmcamlais Farm. A sheep farm of some 210 acres, Cwmcamlais is a paradise for children. Younger children will enjoy the enclosed play area near the barn, whilst older kids will love to explore the the surrounding woodland and river than runs nearby. If you are lucky enough to visit during lambing season, speak to the owners to organise a tour of the lambing sheds. In addition to the farm animals, this area is packed full of wildlife. The owners are happy to provide packed lunches, so why not pull on your wellies and head out across the fields or through the woodland where Red Kite and Buzzards nest and picnic next to the river?
Flexible accommodation for up to 12 people
Apple Tree and Brook Cottage together form what was originally an 18th century barn. Both properties were converted at the same time and the owners thoughtfully ensured maximum flexibility for both cottages. An inter-linking double internal door can be unlocked as required, enabling the two cottages to be used as one very spacious 6 bedroomed home. Although both Brook Cottage and Apple Tree work equally well separately please note that the drying facilities, boot room and games room are all shared.
Spacious games room
Possibly the icing on the cake for these cottages is the fabulous games room. With it's pool table, dart board, air hockey, pin ball machine and table tennis facilities this spacious room will keep everyone entertained on wet days. Comfy sofas and a huge ordinance survey map make this a great space for relaxing and planning your next walking adventure.
Incredibly child-friendly
The owners of Cwmcamlais Farm have gone out of the their way to ensure that both Brook and Apple Tree Cottage are as child-friendly as possible. Stair-gates, cots, highchairs and baby monitors are all available and a large trunk full of toys, books and games are provided for guests use. A play area with swing set and slide sits within sight of the barn, and the farm surroundings or the games room provide plenty of entertainment come rain or shine.
Fine walking, in the heart of the Brecon Beacons.
Apple Tree and Brook Cottage are perfectly situated in the heart of the Beacons. A bridleway from the farm will take you straight up to the National Park Visitor Centre at Libanus where you can get an excellent lunch or stock up for a picnic. The experts on the information desk can provide advice on suitable walks in the area whether you fancy a leisurely stroll onto Mynydd Illtyd or the more demanding ascent of Pen y Fan and Cornddu (the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons). For those bringing bikes there are a huge number of cycle routes locally and most allow for a pub lunch en route! Storage for mountain bikes and canoes is provided at the farm.
