Lots of space, pretty hills, lush valleys and forests. The two main towns in the area are Builth Wells and Llanwrtyd Wells (which claims to be the smallest town in Britain). Both are old spa towns, with a rich history and impressive architecture. We've got a selection of holiday cottages in the towns and in the pretty villages and countryside nearby.
Both towns are famous for the events they host, but are also wonderful for pottering around the lanes and perusing the farmers markets. Builth Wells is home of the Royal Welsh Show. There are loads of other events throughout the year, including regular cob sales, bee keeping conventions, dog shows, antiques fairs and the winter show. Llanwrtyd Wells hosts more unusual events including Man versus Horse and a whole series of Bog Snorkelling events....
The areas around Builth Wells and Llanwrtyd are fantastic for outdoor pursuits. The Wye Valley Walk, is a 136-mile stretch of stunning walking trails, and it passes right through Builth Wells. Llanwrtyd Wells has the Cambrian Mountains on its doorstep. The quiet (but hilly) roads are perfect for keen road bikers. The Coed Trallwm Mountain Bike Centre is just outside Llanwrtyd Wells, with a range of trails across the Elan and Irfon Valleys for all levels of experience, and Builth Wells is the home of the MTB marathon series.
We have cottages in lots of towns, villages and hamlets to the north of Brecon including Builth Wells, Garth, Llangammarch Wells and Llanwrtyd Wells.
