Foresters Granary 2 is one of three peaceful courtyard cottages in a walker's paradise 1000 feet above sea level on the foot path that leads straight to the top of Pen-y-fan in the Brecon Beacons! The cottages have been renovated to a very high standard and are in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park on the mountain road between Aber Village and Pontsticill. The cottages are in the Taf Fechan Forest with beautiful rivers, waterfalls and reservoirs close-by. There is fishing available with permits in the reservoirs and excellent opportunities for bird watching. The cottages offer peace, tranquillity and beautiful walks amongst the most spectacular scenery. Ponsticill and Pentwyn Reservoirs, Pen-y-Fan and the Beacons are all within walking distance. The Taff Trail cycle route passes the cottages. The Brecon Mountain Railway is also nearby. The cottages are an ideal base for bird watchers, steam train enthusiasts, fishermen, cyclists and walkers. There is ample ground to walk or relax in, including access to the river.

The Southern Brecon Beacons are a magical expanse of mountains, lakes and Ystradfellte's waterfall country of caves, rushing rivers and steeply wooded gorges. There's plenty to do here. Discover the mountains by foot, bike (this is the home of the fabulous Bike Park Wales) or even train on the Brecon Mountain Railway. Sample whisky (and gin) to rival even the finest Scotch at Penderyn Distillery, or have a day out at the spectacular caving system and dinosaur attraction at Dan yr Ogof. The acclaimed beaches in the Gower and Carmarthenshire are within an hour of many of the cottages. Read more about Southern Brecon Beacons
