Contemporary country-style cottage near Builth Wells, with spectacular views across the Irfon Valley to the Eppynt Mountains and the Brecon Beacons.

Nestled in the Welsh countryside with 500 acres of private woodland to explore, this contemporary, country-style cottage is perfect for families and four-legged friends. With spectacular views across the Irfon Valley to the Eppynt Mountains and Brecon Beacons, it is just 1 mile from the local pub and 7 miles from the Victorian spa town of Builth Wells. Once the 18th-century home of the estate’s gamekeeper, this cottage is now a modern home from home complete with stylish kitchen, cosy wood burner and lawned garden for al fresco dining and stargazing.

Tastefully modernised, this single-storey cottage boasts calming hues, elegant pops of colour and a sociable open-plan layout. Prepare delicious meals in the chic modern kitchen, which offers ample surface space and is fitted with state-of-the-art appliances. Dine overlooking rolling countryside before sinking into one of the inviting sofas in the lounge area, while your canine companions cosy up beside the roaring wood burner. With two beautifully presented bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, one of which opens onto the terrace through French doors, this property would also suit two couples. Outside, the lawned garden lends itself to summer dining, while private trout fishing is a bonus for any keen anglers.

A haven for walkers, follow nature trails and wildlife walks through beautiful private woodland. With a bridleway passing just above the cottage, this is also a wonderful area to explore on horseback. After a long walk or ride, pop to the local pub in the hamlet or stock up on supplies at the local shop (2.5 miles) to cook at home. The Victorian spa town of Builth Wells offers an inspiring arts centre, variety of shops and eateries and regular events at the Royal Welsh Showground. Wildlife enthusiasts should head for the Elan Valley (21 miles), an ancient landscape of dams, reservoirs and outdoor adventures.

Lovely cottage in a stunning setting. We like to find somewhere remote as we take cats with us who like to go outside, and this was perfect, situated up a single track on farmland. Our only neighbours were sheep. The cottage is well equipped and all on one floor, and has an open plan layout. I would highly recommend and would be happy to stay againRead more. Hide
