Surrounded by dramatic and unspoilt countryside, this warm and welcoming bungalow is the perfect bolthole for families looking to explore the Black Mountains and its surrounding towns and villages.

Set in unspoilt countryside and close to the Black Mountains and the Sugar Loaf, this bolthole is the ideal location for families looking to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park and its plentiful walking routes. Close to market towns, tourist attractions and within easy reach of the Black Mountains Cycle Track and lots of footpaths, there are endless opportunities for you to enjoy the area.

 

The light and airy bungalow has panoramic views over the mountains and towards the Skirrid. It’s a spacious property which has been tastefully decorated and finished with traditional furnishings throughout, such as the stunning Welsh dresser in the open-plan kitchen and dining area. The living room has an electric fire set in an ornamental stone fireplace, perfect for cosying down in front of after a busy day exploring the area. A bright conservatory has views across the landscaped garden, ideal for reading a book or enjoying a morning coffee watching wildlife. If you are a keen cyclist there is ample bike storage available in the garden workshop so you can rest assured that your bike will be safe. When it’s time to get some shut-eye, choose from two stylish bedrooms, one king-size and one twin, both tastefully decorated in keeping with the rest of the property. From the front door, you can access walking and cycling routes through the mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park.

 

Located in the hamlet of Llanvihangel Crucorney, this quaint bungalow is situated on the eastern edge of the Black Mountains. The hamlet itself has a small shop and a pub (1 mile), reputed to be one of the oldest pubs in Wales. Two long-distance walking trails are close by, with Offa’s Dyke Path less than a mile from the property, and Beacons Way 6.5 miles starting in Llanthony Village. Popular hiking spot, the Skirrid, also known as the Holy Mountain, is around 2 miles from the bungalow while the dominating Sugar Loaf is 4.5 miles from here.

Amara is a peaceful and comfortable bungalow surrounded by lovely countryside and is situated in the perfect location for exploring the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. This was our 2nd time here and hopefully not the last. The house is situated in a tranquil location. There are excellent amenities local to the accommodation, and the market town of Abergavenny is only 5 minutes by car. The house has incredible views from the rooms, and comfortable furnishings which make it easy to rest and recuperate during your stay.

Lovely cottage and Julie got it spot on. Warm welcome and there when we needed her but left us to our own devices. The sun room is an amazing asset making the most of the views. The cottage was close to Abergavenny and serves as a great base for exploring the national park

As soon as we walked in it felt homely and welcoming. We wanted for nothing. Very well equipped. We only booked for 3 nights but hope to return with our friend who was taken ill and couldnt make it. Amara was a great place to stay to explore the local area. There are walks straight from the door and the owners kindly left details of a short stroll. The views from the cottage were glorious. Amara was a warm and very comfortable cottage to have our weekend get away.

Fabulous stay at Amara. Julie the host had provided everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Extra touches such as great walking guides, board games & a PlayStation for movies/games. Beds so comfortable great shower, & fabulous recommendations on where to eat nearby.
