Abercynrig House is a fine period country Manor House, secluded and reached up a long private drive; the house has very well kept gardens, with a small lake and orchard all set in 120 acres of a private riverside estate parkland with half a mile of double bank fishing. This is some of the best brown trout fishing on The River Usk; the fishing is a only a few minutes' walk from the door. Fishing booked through Wye & Usk Foundation

A friendly cathedral town in the lee of the mountains with the rivers Usk and Honddu running through. For a small town, there's a lot going on. A leisure centre with a pool, 1930s style cinema, excellent theatre and plenty of shops and cafes. On the outskirts of the town are popular villages including Llangorse with it famous lake, Cantref with its popular adventure farm, Talybont, well known as a walking and cycling hub and Felin Fach, home of The Griffin, a highly acclaimed pub and restaurant.
