Old Crofftau is one of our favourite cottages. This stunning holiday home for 8 people is just 3 miles from Brecon, but you're tucked away in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons with a footpath from the door straight up Cribyn and Penyfan. It's dog friendly, and child friendly, with lots of space, an enclosed garden and Cantref Adventure Farm and Riding Centre just a mile away. The house is comfortable and charming with a 1960s jukebox and plenty of antique furniture. The friendly owners live just next door and are happy to help you plan your trip.

The views from all the windows are phenomenal, straight out onto Cribyn and Pen-y-fan and in the other direction to the Black Mountains. There is a long Welsh slate work surface in the well equipped kitchen area, with a larder fridge, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, large double oven, hob and waste disposal unit.

A friendly cathedral town in the lee of the mountains with the rivers Usk and Honddu running through. For a small town, there's a lot going on. A leisure centre with a pool, 1930s style cinema, excellent theatre and plenty of shops and cafes. On the outskirts of the town are popular villages including Llangorse with it famous lake, Cantref with its popular adventure farm, Talybont, well known as a walking and cycling hub and Felin Fach, home of The Griffin, a highly acclaimed pub and restaurant.
