A completely renovated cottage furnished and designed in a contemporary fashion with great flair and charm. This original old Cart House is set beside the owners Old Vicarage in the tiny hamlet of Merthyr Cynog. This is where the Vicar kept his Coach and horse for travelling around his large parish visiting the out- lying farms and homesteads. The Old Vicarage was built around 1840 and has been a school, an Officer's billet during World War 11 and the home of the vicar until 1976. Now the house is a family home where Caroline runs a very successful Artisan Bakery and supplies the local Farmers Markets and Delicatessents. The Owner runs Bread Making Courses on discussion.
The house is 1000 feet above sea level, up a private drive and opposite the Norman Church of St. Cynog with lovely views across the valley. Red Kite abound in the area and there are many local walks including The Eppynt Way just up the lane. Brecon is 8 miles to the south and Builth Wells is 10 miles to the north. This is a great place to stay if you want to attend an event at The Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells and be able to enjoy all the benefits of The National Park.

A leisure centre with a pool, 1930s style cinema, excellent theatre and plenty of shops and cafes. On the outskirts of the town are popular villages including Llangorse with it famous lake, Cantref with its popular adventure farm, Talybont, well known as a walking and cycling hub and Felin Fach, home of The Griffin, a highly acclaimed pub and restaurant.
