  • 300-year-old traditional stone cottage with a pretty country garden
  • Coal-burning oven available for use
  • Located in a scenic village with canal walks on your doorstep
Property code: BN052

This is an exceptional property in a village location that welcomes pets, with two pubs and a shop within walking distance. A traditional coal-burning oven and enclosed garden welcome you to your Welsh break.

Step back in time and stay in this 300-year-old stone property in the heart of Llangynidr, an attractive village studded within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Discover the spectacular landscape on foot, by bike or even on paw, bringing along your dogs to join in the fun. Sleeping four adults and three dogs in comfort, your holiday accommodation is an idyllic base for exploring bustling market towns, sleepy villages and mile upon mile of craggy mountains, meandering rivers and wooded valleys.

Enjoying a rural setting within a traditional country garden peppered with attractive plants and shrubbery, this cosy cottage is surrounded by beautiful views. Inside, the property is simply styled yet pleasingly rustic with beamed ceilings and stone floors. Light the coal-burning fire on chilly evenings, snuggling up on the sofa with a glass of something warming and delicious in the lounge, and rustle up hearty meals in the kitchen to satisfy the troops. The two bedrooms are accessed via the original stone staircase and both share the ground-floor bathroom with its shower-over-the-bath. The real treat is the vast expanse of garden, where you can enjoy afternoon tea on the lawn and relax in the sunshine. There is a steep drop on the edge of the lawn space, over the low wall, so young children will need to be supervised.

Known for being one of the most attractive towpaths in the UK, the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal runs through the village and offers an exciting route for walking and cycling. Challenge your inner adventurer and set off to investigate the national park, returning for a hearty meal at one of the inviting pubs. Further afield, Brecon (10 miles) has shops, museums and eateries, and the impressive Tretower Court and Castle is 3.5 miles away.
