The Southern Brecon Beacons are a magical expanse of mountains, lakes and Ystradfellte's waterfall country of caves, rushing rivers and steeply wooded gorges. There's plenty to do here. Discover the mountains by foot, bike (this is the home of the fabulous Bike Park Wales) or even train on the Brecon Mountain Railway. Sample whisky (and gin) to rival even the finest Scotch at Penderyn Distillery, or have a day out at the spectacular caving system and dinosaur attraction at Dan yr Ogof. The acclaimed beaches in the Gower and Carmarthenshire are within an hour of many of the cottages. Read more about Southern Brecon Beacons
