Perfect for a couple seeking a tranquil retreat in quiet surroundings, this cute and relaxing property is ideal for exploring the Usk Valley, the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Featuring a warming wood burner and a handy additional outdoor kitchen perfect for a BBQ, the hut is a fantastic base for cyclists, walkers and nature lovers, with plenty of chances to spot a range of wildlife nearby. A few broad steps lead up into this shepherd’s hut which has been charmingly furnished and decorated, and features a welcoming main living area. Here you will find some comfortable seating and a warming wood burner, along with a useful kitchen area and a cosy double bed. There’s also plenty of storage space and a stylish shower room. Heading back outside, the patio area offers an additional outdoor kitchen with a charcoal BBQ, and there’s plenty of garden furniture so you can sit back and dine alfresco. There’s also a hammock perfect for a lazy afternoon, and a fire pit to sit around as the night draws in. A nearby honesty shop sells locally sourced meat and snacks. Far-reaching rural views will give you the chance to spot deer, foxes, red kites and buzzards. The popular market town of Usk (4.5 miles) has a range of pubs, restaurants and shops and is home to the enchanting Usk Castle. Other landmarks include Raglan Castle (10 miles), Tintern Abbey (12 miles), Veddw House Garden (6 miles) and Llandegfedd Reservoir (8 miles). Local activities include kayaking, sailing, fishing and mountain biking, with miles of walks from the door.

We really enjoyed our stay in your lovely Shepherds hut it was so peaceful and set in a beautiful location, We had everything we needed, and the bed was super comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay, and so did our dog! The Shepherds Hut had everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable and the log burner kept us cosy in the evenings. The brownies and beer on arrival were a nice touch. We were impressed with the honesty shop and also found the information on the local area very useful. We had such a relaxing, perfect break away at this lovely shepherds hut. Nick is so welcoming and gives all information you could possibly need of places to visit and things to do. What a break, we went for a week and had a fantastic stay, the Shepherds hut was more than expected and the views to wake up to every morning through the bedroom window are stunning, (Not talking about the wife but don't tell her that) Nick was a fantastic host and can tell you plenty of places to visit. Usk Castle is a must and number 49 caffe/BisRead moretro do a fantastic food, Greyhound pub is a NO..frozen food served! I am fussy but this stay was fantastic! 100% to Nick. Hide

Stunning hut, well thought out with every comfort, surprisingly spacious with incredible views. Our host Nick could not have been more helpful or welcoming and the family dog Hettie was happy to keep us company! Loved the honesty shop which we used a lot, the home made brownies were amazing!

A perfect location to view plenty of wildlife - Red Kites, deer, fox and garden birds. Totally relaxing the hut has everything you need for the perfect holiday away from it all including the stresses of modern life. Magical few days in Wye at Ty Gwyn, the brilliantly designed Tardis like Shepherd's Hut. On our first evening we glimpsed a fox, rabbits, Red Kite, watched buzzards overhead and deer in the fields. We enjoyed both the sunrise and star-gazing through the window at the end of our very comfortable bed. We had a wonderful short break in Ty Gwyns sherperd hut (wye). Everything needed for a holiday is supplied. The hut was extremely roomy, well laid out and quite luxurious.
