A romantic, unique property to make you feel at one with nature but within easy reach to local amenities so you’re not completely isolated

Leave the hustle and bustle behind and escape to the woods for a trip to remember. The perfect destination for an off-grid romantic retreat, wake to the babble of the stream and spend time exploring the great outdoors without straying too far from home. Climb the Sugar Loaf Mountain or make the 6.5-mile trip to Crickhowell and ascend Table Mountain before stocking up on local goods to cook with back at the ranch. Step up to the decked area and make your way inside this inviting bolthole. With many features and items made from native ash tree by the owner, this home has a truly unique feel. The open-plan living space is cosy and welcoming with splashes of colour brightening up the interior. A wood burner warms the living area which consists of a small kitchen, a sofa, and a table for two with a selection of games and books to keep you entertained. Take a drink outside and light the chimenea before heading to bed. The double bedroom is very snug and cosy with little room either side of the bed making it perfect for getting snug. There is a shower room with a compost WC. Parking for one car is provided. Leave your former writer’s cabin behind for the day and tread well-trodden paths to explore. Across the lane, access the Sugar Loaf Mountain from which you can spy wonderful views and tuck into a peak-top picnic with goodies picked up from Crickhowell (6.5 miles). For a day out by the water, travel 16.5 miles to Llangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in Wales and make a splash in a kayak or a canoe for a fun-filled day. From the largest lake to the highest peak in the Black Mountains, Waun Fach is 9 miles away.

Absolutely beautiful setting, owners were very helpful and the cabin was extremely cosy. There was an abundance of wildlife right outside the door including bees, butterflies, birds, bats and even a deer! We had an amazing week and would definitely recommend it.

The shack was a wonderful experience, we enjoyed being off grid, so to speak and totally relaxed by the end of our stay. The location was beautiful, tranquil and the shack was cosy, having lots of kitchen condiments, tea, coffee etc was a lovely touch too. We had the most perfect stay. The location was perfect, close enough to shops but it felt so secluded and private. We had everything we needed and our hosts were super helpful and friendly. The cabin heated up in no time and we enjoyed the evenings on the decking wrapped up warm. Id recommend to anyone!

This was the most special getaway - the shack is tucked away in the forest and has everything you could possibly need. We loved being cosy by the fire after a long walk up Sugar Loaf Mountain. We will certainly come again!!

A beautiful and fully appointed little cabin. We stayed two nights and the first night was beautifully clear and we had an amazing evening star gazing and listening to owls in the woods. Hidden Gem. The wood shack was beautiful and full of character. It was the perfect get away even though not it was not our usual type of holiday. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle and just shut off from the busy world that we live in - and this trip did just that. The shack was warm, cosy and comfortable. We loved staying herethe gorgeous woodland space and listening to the birds and the rain on the roof (even when it kept us awake on a particularly rainy night). The hosts are lovely and you can see how they have thoughtfully created this space inside and outside the shack. The Brecon Beacons is a vast, mountainous and rural region of Wales. Stretching 42 miles from east to west and covering an area of 520 square miles, the Brecon Beacons is dominated by the National Park of the same name.
