Tucked away on a picturesque hillside overlooking the Wye Valley, this stunning shepherd’s hut is the perfect romantic retreat for couples. With far-reaching views, unbridled tranquillity and clear night skies, this idyllic property allows you to unwind and relax in style. Nestled between the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the east, Wentwood Forest to the south and the Brecon Beacons National Park to the north, outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice when it comes to planning exciting adventures.
This exquisite, handmade shepherd’s hut is one of two at this location and offers couples a luxurious glamping experience. Stepping inside, you’ll find yourself in the cosy living area with a comfortable bed to the right, a wood burner in the centre and a compact, yet well-equipped, kitchen to the left. Windows are thoughtfully placed to ensure you have countryside views in all directions. An excellent shower room and WC within the hut itself offers the ultimate luxury. Outside, there’s a hammock from which to appreciate the rural soundtrack, an additional outside kitchen, a charcoal BBQ and a fire pit. There is also an honesty shop on site offering local produce.
There are plenty of walks from your doorstep, but should you venture further afield, you can enjoy walks above the Severn Estuary in Wentwood Forest, along country tracks in the Southeast corner of the Brecon Beacons and beside the River Wye in the Wye Valley AONB. Cyclists will also enjoy these settings as they offer mountain biking and road cycling opportunities, and canoeing on the River Wye is a must. History lovers are catered for with Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle within 15 miles, whilst the small historic town of Usk is 3 miles away with its castle and a range of independent shops and eateries.
