You’ll be surrounded by open countryside which boasts fabulous rural views when staying in this detached property. The large lounge area, accessed via a couple of steps, is flooded with natural light, thanks to double aspect windows, and has a cosy wood burner to snuggle in front of with the dogs on chilly evenings. At the heart of the home is the spacious kitchen/diner which has plenty of room for preparing your spreads. Come together here for breakfast or evening meals, to chat about your day and plan your next adventure. The property has three tasteful bedrooms: a twin on the ground floor (down a couple of steps), and a further twin and a double on the first floor. Outside, there’s a charming, enclosed garden featuring a patio with outdoor furniture where you can sit with an aperitif before supper and admire the far-reaching views.
There’s much to see and do in the picturesque market town of Brecon. As well as a waterside stroll along the canal (15 miles away), you can peruse the independent boutiques, admire the elegant Georgian architecture and enjoy delicious local food at one of the many eateries. There’s also a spectacular jazz festival in August. The 40-acre parkland at Craig-y-Nos Country Park (30 miles) is the perfect place to escape from it all and find peace and tranquillity. Potter around the historic grounds, in amongst the beech trees, alongside the river and around the lakes. If you’re still in the area and the weather turns gloomy, shelter and explore in the cave system of the National Showcaves Centre for Wales.
