From the moment you step through the door you're struck by the attention to detail, exposed beams, 14th Century castellated archway and flagstone floors, yet still with a home away from home feel. It really is a stunning combination of ancient and modern luxury, complete with a castle wall.

In a fabulous location, on the edge of a small village there is heaps on offer, from walking and cycling from the door for all levels of fitness to gentle browsing in book lined Hay-on-Wye and nearby Brecon. A top location for nipping between nearby Brecon, with Cathedral and gateway to the serious hills and Crickhowell, with lovely independent stores and great access to the gentler Black Mountains. The Brecon and Monmouth Canal with pretty tow path runs nearby and there are also two significant rivers in the area, The River Wye, with fishing and canoeing available and the River Usk, famed for its fishing, with permits available locally.

The accommodation offers ONE bedroom: super-king-size with iPod dock and walk in wet room en-suite with bath, shower and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: with woodburner (logs included), Smart TV, Blu-ray and french windows leading to the terrace and garden. Kitchen area, with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer and coffee machine. Outside: enclosed garden, outdoor furniture and BBQ, access to acres of private woodland and parkland. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, dressing gowns, slippers, electric, under floor heating, central heating and Wi-Fi included. Bike store facilities available on site. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome, more by arrangement. Location: pub within walking distance.

OUTSIDE: Private enclosed garden to rear of property with Kettler table and chairs, barbeque available.

PETS: Two dogs are very welcome here.

This place was absolutely lovely. Location was great to explore Brecon and the surrounding areas. The cottage had everything you needed to self cater and recommendations by the owners of local restaurants and pubs were really appreciated. The food was excellent at all of them. Beautifully furnished with an enclosed garden that was safe for our dog Read moreto run freely. The field nearby was also brilliant to give him a run every morning. The Laundry is an amazing cottage. We have stayed in a few self catering properties and I would have to say this was the best. Owners very welcoming on arrival. Would recommend looking at their restaurant choices on their website, we found a lovely little gem at Felin Fach, food was amazing. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard and the Read morekitchen has everything you could possibly need. The private little garden was beautiful and perfect for al fresco dining. We loved staying here. A very relaxing private cottage, beautifully furnished and with everything you need. A safe garden for our dog. Beautiful area and lots of nice pubs and walks close by. So good, weve already booked for next year.

The Laundry is a wonderful cottage to spend time getting away from it all in a tranquil location. This was an absolutely perfect stay! The cottage was flawless and had everything you could ever need. The decor was a pure delight, the smallest of touches from fresh flowers to welsh cakes really made the stay extra special. The grounds are a beautiful sight and located in a stunning area. We had a wonderful week at the Laundry. It is a beautiful property; perfect for a relaxing break. The dog absolutely loved it as there is a massive field in the grounds which he was able to run around to his heart's content.

We stayed at The Laundry, myself, husband & dog. We were welcomed by the owner Peter. Fresh flowers on arrival in the hallway/porch and bedroom, Welsh cakes & milk in the fridge and toiletries in the bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped (better than our own kitchen) beautifully furnished and decorated (I would move in tomorrow) Five cottages but we Read moredidnt see or hear anyone. Peaceful location - just stunning! Lots of birds visiting the garden and birds of prey. Already booked for next year! Hide

The Brecon Beacons is a vast, mountainous and rural region of Wales. Stretching 42 miles from east to west and covering an area of 520 square miles, the Brecon Beacons is dominated by the National Park of the same name.
