Promising the perfect stage for a family reunion or get together with friends, this luxury property boasts an unrivalled stay for 10 in the Brecon Beacons. With its private lake for swimming, boating and fishing, acres of land, garden furniture and a BBQ, we’ve no doubt you’ll struggle to tear your guests away from the many wonderful offerings of this holiday home. Should you bring yourself to venture further afield, the Black Mountains lay at your doorstep along with a host of charming Welsh towns that are steeped in history and intrigue, well worth an explore.

Beautiful decorated and flooded with light in every corner, this stunning property pairs traditional design elements with a contemporary décor and soft accents. Step inside and discover a pretty sitting room with space for all to unwind. Younger visitors will no doubt tussle over the cushy beanbag whilst older guests throw some logs on the fire and switch on the TV. There’s space for all to dine together in the generous open-plan kitchen-come-diner, where an authentic Aga oven pumps out heat on the coldest of days. Should you be stuck with some work to do you’ll be happy to find a private office on-hand for peace and quiet, although we’re sure you’d rather be tied up in the games room or making the most out of the lake and surrounding gardens.

Should you feel the need to leave the property, you won’t find yourself short of activities to enjoy close by. Find the pretty River Wye just 2 miles away for waterside walks and fishing opportunities or amble along to Hay-on-Wye to discover a bookshop or two (3.5 miles). Big kids will adore trips to the nearby Llangorse Activity Centre for nail biting excursions (10 miles) or a hike up the Waun Fach mountain (23.5 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Lake House. A 30 year reunion for 8 friends and the house was perfect. Clean, a stunning location yet not far from Hay or Glasbury. The kitchen is perfect for large groups and the lounge and bedrooms very beautiful too. On arrival we were left milk, bread, eggs and lots of firewood and everything was self-explanatoRead morery. Such a warm, welcoming place, highly recommended for quality time with friends. Hide

The Brecon Beacons is a vast, mountainous and rural region of Wales. Stretching 42 miles from east to west and covering an area of 520 square miles, the Brecon Beacons is dominated by the National Park of the same name. Split into three main areas, the Black Mountain in the west, the Brecon Beacons National Park and Fforest Fawr in the middle, and the Black Mountains in the east; each is a wild, bold and inspiring place to visit on holiday. With 1232 miles of public trails which includes the 95-mile-long Beacons Way, it’s a wayfarer’s delight. One of four Dark Skies Reserves in the UK (and one of 11 in the world), stargazers can delight in the open night sky, to enjoy the darkness in full splendour. The Fforest Fawr is a UNESCO Global Geopark because of its important geology and a need to conserve and protect the area from negative over development.

Stay at a self-catering cottage in the mountains and cascading woodlands or out on the moors; you can also stay in one of the Brecon Beacon’s lovely towns like Hay-on-Wye, Crickhowell, Llangorse or Brecon. Outdoor lovers will enjoy a choice of easy to challenging treks up and around Sugar Loaf Mountain, Carn Pica, Craig Cerrig-Gleisiad, Pen y Fan, or Hatterall Ridge (and many more besides). Take in uniquely Welsh attractions like Dan-yr-Ogof (the National Showcaves Centre for Wales), The Big Pit Mining Museum, Llanthony Priory, Carreg Cennen Castle, Fourteen Locks, and the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway. Wildlife abounds in the Brecon Beacons, and it’s a great place to spot red kites and discover the successful story of their reintroduction to the UK’s skies at the Red Kite Centre. There’s so much to do for outdoor lovers and extreme sports fans here, so why not book your self-catering holiday in the Brecon Beacons today?

Our holiday cottages across the Brecon Beacons have been carefully selected. From dog-friendly cottages in the countryside to large farmhouses on the mountainsides and everything in between, we have a holiday in the Brecon Beacons to suit you.
