Meanwhile, the open-plan lounge/diner is a wonderful space for relaxing after long walks, with its open fire for chillier evenings and patio doors for summer days. A winding staircase leads up to the first floor and the two en-suite bedrooms, both finished with antique furnishings and calming neutral tones. Beyond the patio lie acres of grounds to explore plus a useful bike shed and boot room.
Located on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this property is an excellent choice for keen walkers and adventurers. Set out on foot, hire a bicycle or spend a day on horseback as you explore this picturesque landscape of hills, valleys and woodland. The market town of Abergavenny (7.5 miles) is home to the Wales foodie movement, offering a good selection of independent shops and eateries. Meanwhile, the literary mecca of Hay-on-Wye and Monmouth, the market town and birthplace of Henry V, are 24 and 12.5 miles away respectively.
SLEEPS 2 - 4 : Two en-suite bedrooms. A king-size bedroom with Hastens mattress, beautiful bedlinen and an en-suite bathroom (with shower over bath and WC). A large twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC.
RELAXING: Open-plan living and dining room with open fire place (first basket of logs provided), under floor heating, spiral staircase, Wi-fi, TV, DVD and iPod dock, farmhouse dining table.
COOKING : Well-equipped kitchen with electric double oven and five burner gas hob, microwave, toaster, Magi-mix, fridge, freezer, washing machine.
KEEPING CLEAN : Utility room with downstairs loo / basin. Two upstairs en-suite bathrooms.
GARDEN : Acres of garden to explore, from formal lawns to woodland and fields. Lovely shady tree outside, perfect for dozing and reading under! Outside furniture, swimming pond, BBQ, and ample parking.
BABIES : There is room in either bedroom for a cot, please provide your own travel cot and bedding. A highchair and a booster seat are available. The owner can provide a wooden cot if required for which there is an additional charge of £25 payable direct to the owner and must be requested prior to arrival.
BASICS : On arrival there is a welcome basket, with bread, eggs, butter, milk, juice and local jam. Basics such as salt, pepper, cleaning products, logs (first basket free) are available on arrival.
PETS : Unfortunately The Billiard Room does not accept pets, there are no exceptions.
TRAMPOLINE: There is a trampoline (not available during the winter months) which the owners are more than happy for guests to make use of during their stay. Please note that this is entirely at the guests' own risk.
BIKE HIRE: Available locally, with delivery arranged direct with the owner prior to holiday.
ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING : This is possible at the property for an extra £40 per week payable to the owner on arrival.
