Formerly the home of the village baker, this cosy holiday cottage is set in a charming spot in the heart of the beautiful village of Grosmont. Offering fresh and welcoming accommodation for two, this delightful property makes a fabulous holiday home for a couple exploring the Wye Valley, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons.

Perfect for guests seeking an idyllic getaway or an active escape into the hills, this tastefully decorated cottage makes a wonderfully relaxing retreat. Adjoining the owner’s home, the private entrance to the cottage is tucked away from the street to the side, and leads into this pretty property which features an inviting lounge/diner. With a warming wood burner, TV and views over the village, the lounge is an ideal space to snuggle up and enjoy a movie. There’s also a lovely dining area perfect for sharing a romantic meal.

A step up leads past the log basket into the fully equipped kitchen which is a pleasure to cook in. Heading up the steep cottage-style stairs, the first floor features the delightful king-size bedroom with stripped wooden floors and views over the rooftops of the village towards Skirrid. There’s also a stylish en-suite bathroom.

Outside, a charming space to the front of the cottage makes a pleasant spot for a morning coffee whilst planning the day’s activities. Grosmont has a great pub and shops, and is home to the ruins of Grosmont Castle, part of the Three Castles Walk, along with Skenfrith Castle (5 miles) and White Castle (7 miles). To the east, you can explore the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (12 miles), while the Brecon Beacons are to the west (6 miles). Also nearby are the Black Mountains Cycle Centre (8 miles) and the bustling market town of Abergavenny (12.5 miles).

A lovely cottage with well appointed kitchen, cozy wood burner and the most comfortable bed. So much history literally on your doorstep with a view to Grosmont Castle.

Castle out the back, Angel Inn serving fine food in front and a quiet village, where you're staying in the centre. What's not to like !

The Baker's House is the perfect base for a walking holiday. It is situated directly on the Three Castles walk and close to Abergevenny with the Sugar Loaf Mountain (and vineyard!). The accomodation is very clean and comfortable and extremely well equipped. The kitchen has all the utensils you might want and basics were kindly provided by our hostsRead more (tea, coffee, oil, vinegar, milk, washing-up liquid etc). The Baker's House was a lovely place to stay: beautiful sah windows, tasteful decor, with natural fibres, cotton, Welsh wool, coir matting, glass, ceramic, metal. We loved the warm welcome in the village- pub, shop and church. The quiet and peace were welcome. A beautiful cottage directly opposite a pub in a lovely quiet village. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Lovely village, great cottage, well equipped. Loved the castle. Pub at weekends a bit noisy with outdoor drinking. Very convenient, everything I wanted to get to within 30-60 minutes. Would go again

We stayed here for a week over Christmas and really enjoyed our time. The cottage is very well equipped, with everything that we needed as well as being very clean and tidy.
