Situated in a charming spot on the eastern fringe of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this imaginatively converted former henhouse makes a fabulous base for keen cyclists, walkers and climbers. This idyllic retreat rests in a tranquil location with wonderful views of the breathtaking countryside. One of a pair of light and welcoming properties, this lovely getaway provides ample space for six guests. Entering this stylish and spacious property you will find the smart and elegant open-plan double-height lounge/kitchen/diner which makes a wonderful living area. Featuring a Smart TV and comfortable seating, the lounge is perfect for snuggling in at the end of a great day out. The attractive kitchen has a wide range of equipment so you can prepare all your favourite meals which you can then enjoy in the charming dining area. Exploring this relaxing single-level property further, there are three cosy bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and decorated in light and soothing shades: there are two king-size rooms and a twin room which can be made up as a super-king-size on request. Stepping outside, the large, enclosed garden has space for children to play as well as a patio with outdoor furniture which makes a great spot for al fresco dining. The property is a fantastic base for walkers and climbers, with the Skirrid nearby (4.5 miles) and the Sugar Loaf – the southern summit of the Black Mountains – also within easy reach (7.5 miles). You can also visit the thriving and historic market towns of Abergavenny (4.5 miles) and Crickhowell (10.5 miles) which offer a lovely, welcoming variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and independent shops. Local attractions include Keeper’s Pond (10.5 miles), Blaenavon Ironworks (11 miles), the Big Pit (12.5 miles) and Monmouthshire’s Three Castles: White Castle (4 miles), Grosmont (6 miles) and Skenfrith (10 miles).

The cottage interior is very modern and very well equipped. We loved the beautiful position on the slopes of Skirrid, the fantastic views, the star-gazing at night and the walks from the door. The owner was very helpful with information about the area. We liked the fact that e-bikes were available to hire from the owner. Such a lovely property in a rural peaceful location but not far from Abergavenny and everything the town has to offer. This is a really lovely property, set in a beautiful location, so peaceful and relaxing. The house has everything you need, its very clean and spacious and everything is of high quality. There are some lovely places to eat just a short drive away (very narrow country lanes!) We tried The Crown, excellent and the Turkish restaurant in Abergavenny ceRead morentre is amazing! Lovely modern open plan living space. Cleaned to a very high standard. Absolutely spotless! Garden area completely enclosed for our dog so didnt have to worry, even when the sheep popped down to say hello. Great location, very rural but short drive back to town. Absolutely stunning property. A very well equipped kitchen (far better equipped than my own!) and fantastic outdoor space for the dogs. Lovely touch with bottle of wine and local flower seeds and lip balm left by the owner. My boys who are 16 and 17 really enjoyed too and enjoyed playing chess from the board games available and playing their music Read morethrough the Bluetooth speaker there. Would definitely recommend.
