Alltwinau is a romantic, wonderfully remote and secluded oak beamed farmhouse, ideal for families, couples and groups. It is a perfect retreat if you want to get away from it all with birdsong and the murmur of the River Irfon for company. Located on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains and reached at the end of a long gated track shared only with the farm, approximately a quarter of a mile back down the track. Alltwinau stands completely alone, away from any other habitation, at the end of a 1 mile long track yet only 2.5 miles from the busy town of Llanwrtyd Wells with a small supermarket, shops, pubs and restaurants. It is ideal for completely getting away from it all and for all types of outside activities such as mountain biking, walking and fishing, with the River Irfon just below the house. The cottage has a large traditional open-plan flagstone kitchen /dining/sitting area with two comfy sofas around the original, working fireplace and a separate sitting room downstairs. The painted murals in the kitchen and in the bathroom are a very special feature and are admired by many of our guests.

We really enjoyed our visit. The farm house was just perfect. The location is wonderful so great to be away from it all, so peaceful and relaxing. And the farmhouse itself was charming and so well equipped, it really was home from home. Unlike other times when we have rented places and they are really Spartan and bare, this was so homely. Thank you so much we really do hope to go again.
We had a fabulous time, the cottage was really cosy and well equipped and in a beautiful quiet spot. The service you provided was great. We will definitely be booking through you again - this cottage if it's just us and another if there are more family with us.
North of Brecon there are less dramatic - but far prettier - hills, lush valleys and forests. The two main towns in the area are Builth Wells and Llanwrtyd Wells (which claims to be the smallest town in Britain). Both are old spa towns, with a rich history and impressive architecture. We've got a selection of holiday cottages in the towns and in the pretty villages and countryside nearby.
