Very spartan environment in lovely location with many prohibitive notices adding to the slightly sterile atmosphere but no local info, maps etc. The oven is not working very well and kitchen equipment despite huge amounts of storage is poor - no small saucepans or bowls, only one small chopping knife, take your own potato peeler! Front door cannot Read morebe locked from inside. Decor-wise - the curtains (need some new hooks) are pretty dire. Nothing worth complaining about when there but.. Hide

Feedback given to the owners (in short) no outside lights working, front door didnt lock (internal latch only) no drinking vessels for the children (we used toothbrush beakers) and last minute change of check out time from 10am to 9am - ouch! Apart from this, the accommodation was in good condition, clean and 9 of us enjoyed our stay. Kids loved thRead moree hot tub which is shared (prebook) between all the accommodation . It was very remote (and we live in Devon!) but we enjoyed our long weekend Hide

A great break had by all to celebrate a 40th birthday. A later checkout would have been ideal as we were a little worse for wear leaving at 9am. Great help from Lucy as she found my wedding ring I had misplaced and posted it to my address the same day. Would highly recommend and will book again. Thank you for a great stay.

Map
Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

The Brecon Beacons is a vast, mountainous and rural region of Wales. Stretching 42 miles from east to west and covering an area of 520 square miles, the Brecon Beacons is dominated by the National Park of the same name. Split into three main areas, the Black Mountain in the west, the Brecon Beacons National Park and Fforest Fawr in the middle, and the Black Mountains in the east; each is a wild, bold and inspiring place to visit on holiday. With 1232 miles of public trails which includes the 95-mile-long Beacons Way, it’s a wayfarer’s delight. One of four Dark Skies Reserves in the UK (and one of 11 in the world), stargazers can delight in the open night sky, to enjoy the darkness in full splendour. The Fforest Fawr is a UNESCO Global Geopark because of its important geology and a need to conserve and protect the area from negative over development.

Stay at a self-catering cottage in the mountains and cascading woodlands or out on the moors; you can also stay in one of the Brecon Beacon’s lovely towns like Hay-on-Wye, Crickhowell, Llangorse or Brecon. Outdoor lovers will enjoy a choice of easy to challenging treks up and around Sugar Loaf Mountain, Carn Pica, Craig Cerrig-Gleisiad, Pen y Fan, or Hatterall Ridge (and many more besides). Take in uniquely Welsh attractions like Dan-yr-Ogof (the National Showcaves Centre for Wales), The Big Pit Mining Museum, Llanthony Priory, Carreg Cennen Castle, Fourteen Locks, and the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway. Wildlife abounds in the Brecon Beacons, and it’s a great place to spot red kites and discover the successful story of their reintroduction to the UK’s skies at the Red Kite Centre. There’s so much to do for outdoor lovers and extreme sports fans here, so why not book your self-catering holiday in the Brecon Beacons today?

Our holiday cottages across the Brecon Beacons have been carefully selected. From dog-friendly cottages in the countryside to large farmhouses on the mountainsides and everything in between, we have a holiday in the Brecon Beacons to suit you.
